Market 352: Gorgeous Sprint 385833 in Italy

Giulietta Sprint 1300 10102*385833.  This car is available now from Luzzago in Roncadella, Brescia.  Color combo on this one is one of my favorites, the condition is very good, and the asking price is 25,000 Euro -about $32,500 at the time of writing.  This car is one of the last few Giulietta’s made -production ending at 386000.

I see this blue on a lot of 2600 Sprints, 105 GT’s, TI’s and Supers.  I might have to paint the Glas this color.  This all looks impeccable.

Market 348: Older resto Spider 370548

Update 12/25/11: 33 bids resulted in a sale price of $30,101.

Giulietta Spider 10103*370548.  This car is on eBay right now out of Georgia.  Seller is a long time AROC member who restored the car in about 1990.  It is in good condition cosmetically and is a turn key driver.  No waiting for shops to get work done with this one -just fuel it up and cruise.

Red paint looks very good for being 20+ years old.  Bright-work is all very dazzling.  Rear view mirror is a late Sprint item.  Top looks a little wrinkly -like it’s not used to being up.  I certainly wouldn’t have it up ever -well, if I was parked outside in the rain…

Market 340: Sprint set up for racing

Update 12/14/11: 34 bids were placed, but the car failed to sell for $15,000.  Rightfully so.  Makes me wonder about where the best place to market this car is.


Giulietta Sprint 10102 1493*24148.  Out of Southport CT comes this Sprint racer via eBay.  It has been listed a few times before but I don’t remember how much it got to without selling.  Car looks to have been imported from Italy.  This kind of set up seems like it should command some sort of premium, but with tastes seeming to favor restorations or originality these days, this will probably sell for less than you’d imagine.

Cool stuff.  Body and paint do look very nice.  Looks like a street car with stickers and driving lights -speaking of which the left driving light is set up to make a pool of light a few feet in front of the car -needs adjustment.

Market 137: SVZCT 10126*00184 pretty please???

Update 10/29/11: This car is on eBay right now out of Morrison CO.  Picture are the same as those marketing the car at Fantasy Junction in 2009. 

Update 4/9/11: This charmer is going to be auctioned by RM at Villa d’Este on May 21st.  Still my favorite!  I just noticed I don’t have a register for Zagato variants and I don’t have many pictures.  Anyone want to share their collection?
Seems to have been treated well since the last visit to these pages.
Originally posted 8/1/09: Giulietta Sprint Veloce Zagato II ‘Coda Tronca’ 10126*00184. That’s one mouthful of a name. This desirable object is probably parked beside the subject of Market 136 in the Fantasy Junction showroom. For the $355,000 asking price of this jewel you could buy two of those Lightweight Sprints and throw in the Fulvia Zagato with the remainder and still pay most of the tax and reg.
29550Austere is a good word for these -at least the ‘markedly simple’ part of the definition. The beautiful form of a shape derived solely to fulfill a function. Light weight, low drag coefficient, low center of gravity and yet unmistakeably a Zagato creation. This particular model, of which so few were made, is possibly my favorite.

Market 327: Very nice Spider 750D 03579

Update 10/11/11: $30,200 with reserve not met.  I would have thought $35,000 or a little less would or should buy it.
Giulietta Spider 750D 1495*03579.  This magnificent example is on eBay right now out of Colorado. 750 Alfa’s are at the top of the Alfa Market for Sprints (06611 or before) and Spiders and I expect this car will go for serious money to bear this out.  It was restored back when repro parts were scarce and original nice parts were still available and reasonable.
No flashy pictures here -just good honest ‘show the item’ shots.  Trunk and door fit looks excellent.  Paint finish looks amazing.  No excuses trim fit and finish is rare to see.  Continue reading “Market 327: Very nice Spider 750D 03579”

Market 15: "Beautifully restored Giulietta Sprint"

Update 9/15/11: A note from the seller: “Actually I did quite a lot to the car since I bought it from the man in Savannah GA who offered it on ebay.  That was about 30 months ago.  Paint was carefully hand cleaned, hand clayed, hand polished and waxed. Carpet was replaced with custom colored wool woven plush material, of very tight linear weave.  Engine bay was extensively cleaned and detailed. Original Lodge spark plugs and Cavis wires installed. Original air cleaner canister was refinished and re-installed with an adaptor to the dual barrel Weber. Engine was fine tuned and a complete new centerline exhaust system was installed by Mike Besic. Brake system was completely fine tuned.  Five new Pirelli Cinturatos installed. Interior was cleaned and extensively detailed. Trunk was extensively cleaned and detailed. Fog lights were replaced with Carrellos.  It all seemed like a good idea at the time, and then the 1958 Veloce Confortavole came along last Spring.  I actually took the 1960 Sprint and 1969 Duetto to the Concorso Italiano last August.  That’s where the buyer saw it for the first time. He drove it the following week at Fantasy Junction.  Car sold yesterday. Five days after Fantasy Junction offered it on their website.”
Maybe I didn’t ask enough.”

Update 9/14/11: First -I had to really dig to find this old post.  I’ve been at it a while now it seems.  Champagne all around!  Okay, wishful thinking aside -this car is now available from my frequently frequented, frequently well stocked with frequently above average -in this case way above average cars, Fantasy Junction.  Asking price is an inspiring $49,500.  Yep.  “Sale Pending” the website says.  Mines parked on the street in Oakland California with the windows open.  Heh!


My car looks almost this good from space on a rainy day before they fixed the Hubble lenses.  That’s a nice car!

Market #31: Restored 1960 Giulietta SS

Update 3/12/11: Not your usual resale tale here.  This car sold for $140,000 + 10% at Amelia Island.  Buyer was the Malamut Auto Museum in LA.  Thanks for the tip Eric!  Anyone have pics from the auction to share?  Oh, and congrats to the seller on a big cha-ching.
A nice one from Bill Gillham, the restorer, who is no doubt proud of his work.

Market 284: Giulietta SS 00228

Giulietta Sprint Speciale 10120*00228, 00120*00627. You may note that this is the fifth SS in a row I’ve found on the market and written about.  Good time to be shopping for a nice one.  This particular car is in Germany at Movendi -“The spirit of classic cars’.  Price is 49,900 Euro’s or about $65,000.
I’m running out of words here.  Nice, red, shiny, well turned out and with its hood slightly ajar.  Cool.

Market 266: Late Spider Veloce

Update 10/10/10: 47 bids resulted in a reserve not met price of $27,000.

Giulia Spider Veloce 10118*390717. This car is on eBay right now out of New Mexico.  It was restored once upon a time by Bobcor to a driver standard with an incorrect engine and some questionable parts combo’s.  Asking price of nearly $40K is more in line with a correct, numbers matching car.  A side note- Fusi lists these Spiders as having an engine with a 00118 prefix -there is no such thing- they came with the same engine as a Giulia SS -with a 00121 prefix.
Passes the wow test -a glossy picture from 10 feet.  Stance is good, bright work looks nice and the door and hood fit is pretty good.
