Market 453: Spider 09805 nice in red, yes it is!

Giulietta Spider 10103*09805.  This car is on eBay right now with a Buy it Now of $89,500.  It’s a nice one, and before I get into the gory details of incorrectness, I have to remind myself and you gentle reader, that it’s HARD to get a car to this point.  It requires either a steady check writing hand (and a very skilled payee) or an attention span worthy of a Nobel prize.

This is either a really good shade of red, or the lighting is just right.  Fantastic shut lines, very nice trim, slightly on the blue side of silver wheels, Cibie headlamps.  A nice one.

Market 413: Spider 10103 08586 in SoCal (or is it 08536?)

Update 12/12/12:  No sale at $15K.  I’m sure we haven’t heard the last.  Note that it is new information that it has engine 1315*32058 – a Veloce engine.  Would like to see a picture of the block stamping.

Update 11/26/12:  This car has turned up on eBay again.  Still doesn’t look like a bad car, but it is wrong in some key areas that are keeping the price low.

Update 7/1/12: Seems like it should have been bid up higher…

Giulietta Spider 10103 1495*08586.  This car is available on eBay from Chequered Flag, frequent purveyors of classics.  Car is restored to mostly original with some ‘as fits the owner’ condition additions.  Mostly good, but with some deviations from stock that beg for a definition of ‘restored’.  At least the asking price is not overly inflated.

In the tradition of red.  Body looks pretty good, as does the trim.  It’s easy to nit pick a nice car, but easy to forget it’s hard to get one this far.  Put that top down already!

Market 443: Sprint Speciale 10120 00239 -nice!

Update 12/12/12:  It sold for $137,500. Can you make this out of a $50,000 project for another $85,000?  That’s the gamble I think a lot of guys are taking.

Giulietta Sprint Speciale 10120*00239, 00120*00634.  This car is available on eBay from Drivers Source in Houston Tx.  They’ve had some Giulietta’s in questionable condition over the time I’ve had this blog, but this one looks pretty good.  It has an award in Portofino, so I suppose it’s a recent import.  Check it out!

“Ruby” red meets foliage.  Stance is a litte high. Shine is present and it is what it is.  Bumper looks weird -kind of droopy on the ends.    $137,500?  You tell me.

Market 366: Spider Veloce 390015 in Italy

Update 9/3/12: This car has been listed for sale in France now.  No pictures of the intake set up so I assume they haven’t changed it to be more correct.  Price is now 60,000 Euro’s.

1/10/12: Giulia Spider Veloce 1600 10118*390015, 00121*01569.  From our pal’s Luzzago comes this 1600 Spider Veloce.  You have to call them and engage in human interaction if you want to know the asking price -I’m going to guess that price is in line with the asking price we’ve seen for similar cars as such places as Fantasy Junction.  All areas of the car are described in ALL CAPS as PERFECT.  Go look in person, bring a parts book and a magnet.

It’s red.  It’s a late spider.  It’s got a luster that triggers desire.  It looks damn good.

Market 383: 10120 Sprint Speciale at Hyman

Update 8/21/12:  Sold for $138,000.  Well, er, bought and sold.  The journey continues.

Update 2/13/12:  It is the same car -the vin has been verified.  Sold for about €38,000 in 2006.  Market has changed!

Update 2/12/12: I heard from a previous owner of this car -the vin is 10120*177259.  He sold it into Spain 6 years ago.  He’s not positive it’s the same car, but pictures indicate it most likely is.

Silver grill -yes.  Same tires?  I think so.

Definitely looks like the same engine to me.  There you have it -a piece of the past puzzle of this car.

Giulietta Sprint Speciale 10120.  This car is listed by Hyman Ltd, in St. Louis.  No asking price, vin or other info is provided, but judging from the pictures it’s a nice car and knowing Hyman’s MO, it will undoubtedly be expensive.  I looked through my files but was unable to find this car.  Anyone know it?

Like Fantasy Junction and their brick wall, Hyman uses this stage to good effect.  I wonder if it’s set up all the time?  I’m helping a friend listing a ton of Jaguar parts from the 50’s and 60’s on eBay and we plan on setting up a permanent photo area.  Note the screen behind the grill is in silver (or possibly chrome) -not original (if you care).  Windshield wipers are parked on the opposite side form usual.  Nice looking car!

Market 62: Restored Giulia SS 380024 (still) on the block

Update 8/13/12: Still available.  Description says it was restored from bare metal by Carrozzeria Touring.  Price is now “upon request”.  Maybe a good car to bring to the US and try and sell at auction for a profit?

Update 2/13/09: This car is now listed on Anamera at 59000 Euro’s.  They have included a statement that the engine is an 00121.

Oops:  I confused this car with another.  This one was not (to my knowledge) restored by a German and didn’t benefit from a parts car that was sold for 50 Euro’s.  Sorry.

Original post 11/24/08: Giulia Sprint Speciale 10121*380024, 00121*00128.  This car is available now out of Italy from Luzzago.  Car was restored by a German Gentleman who is said to have had a parts car that he sold for 50 Euro’s when the project was done!

The condition of this car is very good  and Luzzago has several mid-restoration pictures to assure you that things were done right where the body is concerned.

giulia20160020ss20196420azzurra2000220wBumpers fit very well in this picture, as does the hood and headlight rings.  I like the blue but it might be a little better if it had a little less baby in it.

Market 261: 1600 Spider 10123 375767 in Idaho (was in Buffalo)

Update 7/1/12: Seller has commented that this car has sold and is happy with the sale price.

Update 4/11/12: 18 months later this car turns up in VERY nice shape on eBay with a respectable $62,000 buy it now price.  List of work done reads like a wish list for my car.  Goes to show that even when you start with an excellent car there is a lot to do to make it ‘right’ if that’s your aim.  If you read the original ad below I mention that it had a Sprint seat adjusting knob and that I had an extra Spider one -I sold it to this seller, so a humble part from my stash is incorporated here.

Very nice Kevin!  Don’t know that eBay is the right place to list this, but it’s amazing to see the transformation.  Unusual perspective this.

Market 405: 2600 Sprint 824960 -Nice!

2600 Sprint 10602*824960, 00601.  This 2600 Sprint is hanging out next to a 1900 Berlina at Fantasy Junction right now.  I went and saw it in person and it really is as nice as it looks in pictures.  The 2600 Sprint I listed recently was a pretty good deal at $23,500, since it’s got to be more than 65% of the car this is at $55,000.  The more I look at these, the more I think another 2600 Sprint might be on my reality based top 10 list, near the Montreal.

There is an air of 60’s American car about these -maybe it’s the size and lots of horizontal bars in the grill.  Note how skinny the tires are!  Very clean example.

Market 403: Spider Veloce 750F 02029

Update 3/28/12: This car did pretty well at $48223, and with some detailing may have gone higher.

3/13/12: Giulietta Spider Veloce 750F 1495*02029, 1315*30721.
Instead of the usual busted up Spider I frequently get to write about, this nice early Spider Veloce, built in mid-1957 is on eBay right now.  It’s a nice car -not necessarily correct to a fault, or finished to such a high standard you are afraid to drive it, but much better than average and mechanically sound.  Car was originally black with red interior, but it’s currently Celeste with black -not very often that an Alfa is not original color and yet not redone in red. I hesitate to guess a value -just keep in mind one of the high priced cars of 2011 was a Celeste 1958 Spider Veloce in driver + condition.

This picture could be a lot better, but shows you what to expect to show up in a big cardboard box in a few weeks if you buy it.  Good shut lines, good trim -ready to playboy it around Hollywood.

Market 401: Sprint 750B 05731 -Very nice!!

Giulietta Sprint 750B 1493*05731, 1315*05212, Bertone body 655119.  There has been keen interest on my site without me writing about this if click thru’s from a comment to the ad are any indication!  Several correspondents have reported it’s availability and finally, here I am getting a post about it up. The car is nicely finished, with only a few incorrect details that can easily be rectified.  I like a Sprint in silver with red interior -looks just like a car I have pictures of from a guy in Sacramento circa 1990.

Looks phenomenal from this angle, with nice even paint, over a tight fitting body and precisely fitted trim.  These pictures are very artful, but not great for assaying the quality of the specimen.
