Giulietta Spider 10104 1495*09366. This Spider racer is for sale on eBay right now out of Putnam Valley, New York. Seller states it has a VSCCA log book, runs great and is ready for action. Price is a little higher than I would think but it is rust free and race engines are expensive to build well, so maybe the $35K option will be exercised.
Red on green is always a good look. This car is very low. I like the grill bars only look.
Update 6/24/10: Is $8601.50 a good deal for this car? Â Not sure, but that’s what it sold for. Â I’d like to see a little less rust for that money, but it is nearly complete.
Giulietta Spider 10103/4 09363, 00102*25390. This Spider is on eBay right now out of Illinois from a seller who seems to always have a few Giulietta bits on offer. Â Condition is the usual straight clean car with some race history that was allowed to get rusty during a period of neglect. Â Bidding is just shy of $5K as I write.
Nose is in good shape, hood fits well and the original paint was probably salvagable before rust was allowed to snack on this car. I wonder what the ‘CP’ racing group is?
Giulietta/Giulia Sprint 385086. This car that I found on Anamera is going to be auctioned May 1st 2010 in Monaco by RM auctions (listed between a Frua AC 428 and a Aston DB2 Vantage!). Car wears a 10112 Sprint 1600 build plate on the firewall but the vin number itself is that of a 10103 1300 Giulietta Sprint from 1965. I am guessing the vin is 10112*358086. I’ll send an email off into the cloud and see if they can clarify this. Car is set up for fast street or track use being stripped of bumpers and other unnecessaries and having a roll bar and race style controls.
Car looks very good in this view with bumper missing and mount holes filled. Alfa grill badge is missing, no doubt to save a few grams. I like the blacked out mesh of the grills. Rear view mirror is in an unoriginal place. I like the cartoon dead fish eye X’s. A close look at the front reveals a thick sway bar.

Originally posted July 5th, 2008: While not considered competitive on the race track in retrospect, the Sprint Speciale must none the less have been a somewhat attractive option for wealthy amateurs when it was first sold. The combination of an aerodynamic shape and powerful engine must surely have seemed like a winner if some weight could be shed and current engine tuning tricks being used by Conrero, Bosato and others could further improve the engine. This is supported by period race photographs and entry lists which document the occasional SS among the field of SV’s, SVZ’s and SZ’s.
An early SS (00045) running the 1960 Targa Florio, 00029 and 00040 also ran. 00045 went on to run in ’61 – ’64. Anyone know where 00045 is now?
Giulietta TI 10129*237039. This car has been around for sale for about a year and coincidentally (I didn’t start this as a market, but I guess it is) was just relisted on Anamera for 13,000 Euro or about $17,600 at time of writing. Fit and finish is just right for a street/track car and it looks to be street registered.
The Giulietta TI was born when a Sprint normale engine was fitted to a Giulietta Berlina and some details changed -the addition of a tach for example. At the 1957 Coup Des Alpes a team of 3 TI’s ran and did very well. I like the bumper delete and single leather hood latch.

Update 1/2/10: I changed the location to Belgium as corrected by several readers. I knew making obvious mistakes would get some of you to comment!
Giulietta Sprint 750B 1493*04045. This Zagato rebodied Sprint is for sale in Belgium as an SVZ, no price is stated. I list it as a 750B because d’Amico and Tabucchi do not list 04045 as a Veloce and my SVZ book does not list this chassis as having been rebodied by Zagato ‘back in the day’. What does this mean? Not a lot actually. In the first place several period Zagato modified cars are not Veloce’s, in two cases not even Sprints, but rather Spiders. Second, if you spend 4 hours and read through the whole of the “complete SVZ file” on the Alfa BB you will see that (in addition to a lot of confusion) there are a lot of Zagato bodied Alfa’s in race photographs from the late 50’s that are not identified as any particular chassis number. This leads to the third point, if there are a bunch of unknown cars wearing Zagato bodies, couldn’t you just find a Sprint, rebody it in the style of an SVZ and pass it off? This question leads to the fourth point. Even if it was made yesterday it is not easy or cheap to fake an SVZ and if a legitimate coachbuilder today undertook the transformation of a car to the specification of an SVZ it would be very expensive. How expensive? I don’t really know. You tell me. The last point is: most of the original, known, accepted, documented and indisputable SVZ’s don’t wear their ‘back in the day’ body, so even if a somewhat modern recreation -how different would this car really be? Again, your thoughts please oh wise and comment prone reader.
When you look at a car like this you take in little details like the absence of side marker lights, the sliding windows, the shape of the rear quarter windows, the fit of the windshield etc and then go to your history book and try and figure out if any of the blurry black and whites are this car in action. Good times. Oh, and thanks Elmar for the heads up on this one.
Update 12/5/09: This car sold for $5025. I would have to see the quality of the paint in person but this seems like a pretty good price for a car you can just start bolting parts onto.Â
Giulietta Spider 10103*170861. This car is on eBay right now out of New York. Seller says it’s a 1600 and it has a 1600 hood, but the vin number stated is that of a tipo 10103 1300. No big deal, it’s not going to get restored any time soon.Â
The car looks pretty good. Wheel wells look to have been flared slightly. Cage is pretty substantial. Wheels are 105/115 era BWA’s I believe. I kind of like these wheels and would put them on the 69 GTV given the chance.
Update 12/5/09: This car sold for $5000 even. Seemingly the new norm for incomplete unremarkable Giulietta Spider rollers.
Giulietta Spider 1495*09110. This car is on eBay right now from a seller in the north east US who seems to have a lot of Giulietta stuff in their barn. This car is said to have been a long time race car, but seems to only be stickers, stripes and a roll bar away from being your usual remainder of a parted out Spider- very solid and rust free remainder I should add.
Race number might help explain why it ended up years later stripped on anything of value and sold off. Front looks tough with the bumper brackets and blanks where the signal lights go. Certainly sits low for a car with no engine, supporting the race car claim.
Update 10/20/09: 28 bidders resulted in a seling price of $13,500. This is very low for this car. A competitive 1300 engine alone is close to $10K to build. I wish I wasn’t paring down myself or I would have jumped in! Another Giulietta heads for Germany.
Update 10/14/09: This car is back on eBay. Previous buyer and now seller has a pretty comprehensive description and you now know exactly what you are getting. If nothing else, the auction is worth a visit to see some vintage pictures of it in action. I wonder what has been done to the engine? Cams? Big valves? Look for a solid end price this time.
Looks like fun. These cars look good with no grill trims at all.
It’s hard to put a price on proven track time. This car seems to have it. I want a race car!
Giulietta Spider Race Car 10103 1495*11341. This car was on eBay briefly last week and ended BUY IT NOW on 5/22/09 for $12,000. Someone got an amazing deal or ripped off and I suspect the latter. If you know this car drop me a line.

Giulietta Sprint 1493E09676, 1315*32720. This car is available right now out of Finland on RaceCarsforSale with an asking price of 32,000 Euro’s. It looks to be mainly a track car, but since it started life as a street car it shouldn’t be too much trouble to make it street worthy if that is your desire -I know it would be mine.
Looks tight and racy. Body is in good shape on cursory inspection. Presence of trim, windshield wipers and lights makes me think it is probably driveable on the street as is. Rear wheels look widened.
