Market 367: Spider 750D project 00991

Giulietta Spider 750D 1495*00991.  This car is going to be auctioned by Gooding and Co this January 20/21st in Scottsdale Az.  It’s really playing up the dusty barn find appeal, and for good reason -it has a lot of that dusty barn find appeal!  There are a lot of guys who pay a premium to be the first one to take a crack at a car like this, and as such I expect a healthy sale price.

Nose is very straight.  Trim needs some chrome help, but looks pretty good.  I like the dust!

Market 355: Barn find Spider Veloce 02264

Update 12/31/11: Sold for $30,100!

Giulietta Spider Veloce 750F 1495*02264, 1315*30740. Brad pointed out that this car just popped up on eBay out of Connecticut. As far as Spider Veloce projects goes, this car just about has it all -1957 build date, matching numbers, correct intake system including 40DCO3’s, seats with tracks, moderate rust, and overall decent completeness.  It’s still a project, and as such maybe a road to ruin, but among projects, it’s not too bad.

Looks like a really good car -maybe wax it, vacuum the spiders out of the engine compartment, iron the carpets and away you go.  Hood fit is really good.

Market 226: SS 10120*00533 in Florida

Update 8/24/11:  It has been reported by several attendees that this car made $190,000!  Serious money.  Lightweight Sprint Veloce Money.  SZ money not too long ago.  Now every bumpkin who inherits a busted up SS is going to be offering a $190,000 Buy it Now on eBay.  Nice.

Update 8/20/11: This car was spotted at the Gooding and Co auction this Monterey weekend, spruced up and looking to sell for a lot of money based on its preservation status.
It’s amazing how good they can make a car look with some polish and care.
The story as they tell it.
Update 6/30/10: Elmar sent me an email making me aware of the picture below… must be the same car as this is a rare color and vent windows are even rarer.
Period shot of 533?  Probably!
Update 6/11/10: I hear $250K is the magic number.  I will have to chew on that for a while -not sure how I feel about it.
Giulietta Sprint Speciale 10120*00533. Elmar, the European correspondent sent me a link to this SS that is available now from Pegasus in Florida -car was owned my the owner of Centerline for a while.  Condition is said to be all original and as can be seen it has the rare vent window option.  I’m not sure what they are asking for it.
This is a great color- kind of a platinum gray silver.  It’s said to be as good as it looks.  Trim, shut lines etc are all fine.

Market 313: Nice survivor Sprint on Bring a Trailer

Giulietta Sprint 10105 1493*21069.  Bring a Trailer has this car listed as an exclusive for a long time owner.  A good portion of the paint is original Amber White, interior is original.  Engine was rebuilt 30 years ago to Veloce spec though aside from manifold and carbs, a cold air/filter system needs to be purchased.  Asking price is $23,500.  A bit high by usual Sprint project standards, but this is no ‘usual’ Sprint project.  A Sprint buyer looking for originality, no rust, black plates, complete history etc will have no problem paying for this.  I suspect it is sold as I write, but I want to share this beauty with any Giuliettas readers who are not BaT readers.
Resprayed door is apparent in this picture.  Lost headlight ring?  I still want a pair of these lenses.  You still have that one for me Brad?

Market 253: Spider Veloce driver in SF Bay Area

Update 3/21/11: This car is now listed by the seller in Hemmings.  Price has been reduced to $32,000.  Not a bad deal!
Original post 8/25/10: Giulietta Spider Veloce 10107 1495*10201. This car is available now in the San Francisco Bay Area for $39,875.    The seller has owned the car since 1985 and has been using it since.  Engine in the car is not original and has been recently rebuilt but the original comes with the car.
Looks like a really nice patina on a well loved driver -the perfect compliment to my Sprint -alas I don’t have $40K burning a hole in my pocket…

Market 269: Nice Giulia SS in Colorado

Update 3/21/11: This car has (surprise surprise) ended up at a classic car dealer, with a 20% mark up.  See it here at Gullwing Motorcars for $59,500.  Lots of new pictures added to this cars photo set.
Looks good with a proper detail job!

Update 11/17/10:Failed to sell on eBay -reaching $40,544 with 20 bids.  What’s the story you ask?  Well, I think it probably has to do with the rust bubbles in the rockers.  These cars are not trivial to fix when they have rust and based on the pictures chances are this car will need rockers.  There is a pretty good discussion of this on the BB.  The end of the world?  No -but competent replacement followed by at minimum color matched paint will be more than $10K.  Do the math…
Update 11/11/10: On eBay!
Giulia SS 10121*381131, 00121*01052 (now 00112*15918). This car is listed on the Alfa BB as available for discussion and possible purchase if the price is right before it goes on eBay.  The BB post features a fairly comprehensive description and the pictures below.  I assume it will end up on eBay as sellers tend to want the max possible money and that is an unknown number until an auction is run.
Looks pretty good.  Red with gray interior is a nice combo.  Check for dings carefully after seeing it nestled so closely in with all that junk.

Market 286: "Structurally Magnificent" 1600 Spider

Giulia Spider 1600 10123*378523, 00112*13849. Fantasy Junction, my local $ports and $pecialty car dealer, has in their showroom now this late 1600 Spider, a good example of why you try and buy a car out of California.  As rust free as you could ask for and priced to match at $44,500.  Their site lists it as ‘sale pending’ so move fast if this is your thing.
FJ always has this angle and for good reason -a handsome car made even more handsome.  Looks good no?

Markt 259: Nice Giulietta SS in the US

Update 10/19/10: This car is now on eBay and features a lot of pictures.  Also, I had the VIN wrong -it’s 10120*177423 (link is to more pictures) with engine number 00120*01775.  I wonder if the seller from Hemmings knew they were selling it to a dealer?
Update 10/4/10: Driversource bought this car, gave it a polish and now you can buy it from them for $59,500.

Update 9/9/10: I have received word that this car has been sold.  You snooze you lose!
Giulietta Sprint Speciale 10120*177423, 00120*01775. This car is for sale right now on Hemmings out of Belleville Michigan for $50,000 -not bad for a nice original car, just under 40K Euro’s.
Hello Gorgeous!  I like them in white.  Corner marker lights look a little far back on the fender, but maybe the one’s I’ve seen are too far forward.

Market 247: clean 750D in Germany

Giulietta Spider 750D 1495*07183, 1315*45807. Another fabulous Giulietta out of Germany, this Spider is available from Wunscholdtimer for 39,500 Euro’s or about $52,000 at the time of writing.  A lot of money but a very nice, original appearing Spider.
This car looks to have either been extremely well cared for since new or it’s an older restoration.  The paint is great but some of the interior and engine compartment components lack the luster expected of a ‘new’ restoration.  This is about as nice as I’d want a car to be.  Front end looks amazing.
