Market 311: 'Dazzling' 1959 Normale Spider

Update 5/29/11: 1 bid, reserve not met.  So it goes.

Giulietta Spider 10103This car is on eBay right now out of Oak Park Ill.  Seller has had it 12 years and doesn’t state a selling reason -perhaps they saw an opening -a dry spell where no good Giulietta’s have been listed on eBay for a while.  Looks like a fine car in an unusual color combo -off white with blue interior..
I like the dusky light here.  Everything looks good on the body.  No vin is stated but if someone catches it let me know so this guy can take its place in the register.

Market 310: 101 Spider in Florida

Update:  Seller ended the auction early to honor a verbal contract he thought had fallen through -even though bidding had surpassed the contract price.  The honorable thing to do.
Giulietta Spider 10103*170509, 00102*25833.  This Spider is available right now on eBay.  Seller is out of Florida and has been featured here a few times selling cars like this.  The car would be a great candidate to get going and use as is if it weren’t for some ugly rust.  It’s fixable but it’s not going to be fun!
Originally gray with red, now red with red.  Front end looks pretty good -trim and all is straight.

Market 308: 750D project in Texas.

Giulietta Spider 750D 1495*03964.  This car is available now on the Alfa BB for the asking price of either $13,000 or $16,000.  Pretty decent starting point from a completeness standpoint.  Not sure about the price as I haven’t seen thorough pictures of the rust, the engine is not original and the car in Market 304 was better most-of-the-way-around for $13,200 and had a real Pininfarina hard top.
Front end is not bad.  Looks to have had some slight mishaps over the years.  I like this color and it is original to this car.

Market 303: 1600 Spider racer project

Update 4/21/11: 20 bids resulted in $3050.  About right I suppose.

Originally published 4/13/11: Spider 1600 10123*378082. This car is on eBay right now out of Florida.  Car has 7 bids at a price of $1000 as I write this.  Good to see sellers who understand the value of eBay is in starting low and hoping competition for the product occurs.  Car is your usual budget prep neglected track day project needing lots of help.
One of the unfortunates -beaten and abused from living fast in its youth.  Ready now for some respect and care.

Market 300: Spider racer project in Florida

Giulietta Spider 10103*171108. This car is on eBay right now out of Florida.  Car would originally have had an 00102 series 1300 engine but auction includes a 00121 1600 Sprint Speciale/Spider Veloce engine and an unnumbered 1600 replacement block.  Price is $23,500 to start and seller expects local pick up only -good luck with that.
Car looks pretty cool.  Door and hood fit is excellent.  I wonder what provenance this has as a racer.

Market 290: Early restored RHD 750 Spider in Australia

Update 3/14/11: Ol’ eagle-eye Laurence in the comments identified this car thus:

“Yes, This car 1495*00422, was documented in the Giuliettaletta issue 81, Spring 2004, by its owner Richard Granger, who purchased the car originating from Fantasy Junction (California) on 04/15/1996.
In 1997 he descided to do a RHD conversion, and to add “Veloce mods” to the normale configuration. Original engine 1315*40508 was replaced with 1315*31665. RHD installation was patterned from a RHD 1964 Giulia Spider. Center (now left-hand) gearshift was retained.Electronic ignition and some driving mods were added.
The work appears to have been done to a good standard in NSW, and the shops are listed. The car then Joined the Grangers in Napier, New Zealand”

Spider 750D 1495*00422. Gavin sent me a link to this car being sold by Dutton’s in South Yarra listed on Car Sales in Australia.  Asking price is $99,950 AU dollars or $101,000 US.  Description is a bit off from what is seen in the pictures and the numbers.  Not a 1959 for sure.
Nice red… sort of ox blood or something.  Very clean, very nicely assembled and very expensive!  Note steering wheel placement.

Market 286: "Structurally Magnificent" 1600 Spider

Giulia Spider 1600 10123*378523, 00112*13849. Fantasy Junction, my local $ports and $pecialty car dealer, has in their showroom now this late 1600 Spider, a good example of why you try and buy a car out of California.  As rust free as you could ask for and priced to match at $44,500.  Their site lists it as ‘sale pending’ so move fast if this is your thing.
FJ always has this angle and for good reason -a handsome car made even more handsome.  Looks good no?

Market 279: Stripped and ready for action Spider

Giulietta Spider 10103 1713XX is on eBay right now out of Colorado.  Car is stripped to expose all potential problem areas and all in all it’s better than most projects of this sort.  Logistics of getting it home is probably more of an issue than condition here.
Nose has had the typical carelessness bumps, requiring some skill to repair.  Color looks to have been gray.

2010 Spider and Spider Veloce market review

2010 saw a lot of Spiders change hands around the world, from the roughest of the probably-impossible projects to the top of the market concours trailer queens. I did my best to take little snapshots as they passed with pictures matched to vin numbers and sale prices, but I probably missed a bunch. Anyway, here they are, cheapest to most expensive. Where no sale price was recorded I made an educated guess.  Last year I had more time so I did the Veloce’s separate -this year they are combined.  Lot of cars this year!
Market 230 was abomination “Jiuliet Spider Velosh” 750F*04640 selling for $1136.
