Market 452: Spider 171325 -pretty clean

12/24/12:  Understandably not sold for $21,100.  Better pictures and a little research allowing for a candid appraisal of it’s condition by the seller would help.

12/17/12: Giulietta Spider 10103*171325, 1315*010625.  This car is on eBay right now out of  Quebec.  It looks okay, but it’s tough to tell much about a black car in dark pictures.  The seller seems to be a dealer of primarily American/Muscle type cars.  In the description they seem surprised the car has a twin cam engine.  Heh!

Nice!  The chrome is all new as are the tires.  Can’t say much about the paint/body -needs some outdoor pictures.

Market 451: Spider 10103 170856 -or what’s left of it

Update 12/24/12:  Sold for $2850!

Screen Shot 2012-12-24 at 7.01.05 AM

12/16/12: Giulietta Spider 10103*170856.  This partial car is on eBay right now out of Texas.  It comes with some of it’s parts, but no images or inventory are offered -the seller only confirms it’s missing the seats, engine, transmission and one windshield pillar.  I think that is probably the abbreviated list of macro parts missing, and that there will be plenty more.  The car itself is as pictured is a very rusty shell.  Proceed with caution.

Screen Shot 2012-12-16 at 8.28.02 PM

From this angle, not too bad, just missing a little skin and a little banged up.

Market 450: Giuliettas.com exclusive Sprint 20205 (was M49)

Update 1/16/13: Car has been sold via eBay for $12,500 almost immediately upon listing.

12/13/12: Giulietta Sprint 10102 1493*20205, 1315*010311.  This car is available right now out of Florida from a long time Alfa owner/restorer.  It is more solid than the usual Sprint project and complete but needs a full restoration to be nice or at least a mechanical freshening to be driven.  If you’re looking for a matching numbers complete Sprint as a starting point for a project this may be the car for you!  Asking price is “offers in the lower mid-teens”.

This car was Market 49 where it failed to sell for about $5500 back when you could get pretty good runner for about $20,000.  Pretty good runners have moved on to start at about $35,000 and projects have gotten more expensive as a result, so I think $12 – 15K would not be a bad deal for this car.  Car was originally delivered to a dealer in Italy – finding it’s way to the US in the 60’s.

Email me and I’ll put you in contact with the seller.  sprints @ giuliettas.com

One could drive this car looking like this.  Might cause some grumbling among the purists – but who cares.  Marker lights are consistent with a European delivery car.  Trim all looks pretty good.

Market 426: 101 Spider Veloce 10107 167647

Update 12/12/12:  What are the chances this car is available now on Autotrader for $17,000?  Not much I would bet.  Thanks Mark for pointing this scam out!

Screen Shot 2012-12-12 at 9.46.27 AM

Update 7/12:  Car sold for a little over $60,000.

Giulietta Spider Veloce 10107*167647, 00106*01234. This car is on eBay right now out of Georgia by a reputable seller usually dealing in Maserati’s.  The car is tidy, complete and functional and would likely suit the buyer looking for something they can use without worry and improve when the fit takes them.

Lovely.  White suits the Spider very well.  All the trim, fit and finish is nice. Sellers got a nice driveway!

Market 448: Sprin”g” Speciale 00142

Update 12/12/12:  Numbers added.  Thanks Christopher for the fancy footwork.  Matching-ish number car = more value, but how much more?

Looks correct.  Clean block.

Only the early ones seem to have these build plates – usually US cars with the 10117 prefix.

Giulietta Sprint Speciale 10120*00142, 00120*00601.  At the bottom of the lower middle of the possibly viable Spring Speciale (typo theirs) spectrum sits this vin-not-disclosed SS out of Beverly Hills.  It’s actually more complete than this sort of thing is, but jeez – where’s it been??  Thanks Dan for making me aware of it.  Oh – and $44K is the operative range.

Everyone needs an SS at the bottom of their pond for the better part of the Rolling Stones career.  It is and someone will go for it -it’s just work after all (work being a four letter word for money).

Market 242: frightening SS project 380956

Update 12/8/12: Still available.  Surprised?  Me neither.  This is a long uphill slog with a boulder on your back.  You would have to be a lucky guy who bought a project that came with an extra cars worth of trim etc.

Update 2/12/12: Elmar informs me this car has been relisted by Laurent with a reduced asking price of €8,900.  No less a crazy project!

French build plate.  Positive ID.  Someone somewhere will decide this is worth fixing.  Eventually.

Market 447: Spider 170763 in Florida

12/24/12: Tough to say whether it’s just right or a bargain at $27,100 -but if they overpaid, it couldn’t have been by much.

Screen Shot 2012-12-24 at 7.19.59 AM

12/7/12: Giulietta Spider 10103*170763.  This car is available now on eBay. It is nice enough but unremarkable. The description, though verbose, doesn’t say much about the car and the pictures are way to small to do anything but tease. Both leave a lot to the imagination -a tactic no doubt, because most people fill in the missing information with imaginings that add up to an impression of what they want to see rather than what is there. Regardless, the price is still low and if it’s as rust free as described, it wouldn’t take much to turn it into a very nice car.
Screen Shot 2012-12-07 at 9.59.06 AM

All the pictures have this ‘a little too close’ air and saturated color.  Does look nice though -so desired effect achieved.  Infinitely better to start here than a rusty hulk.

Market 446: Sprint 750B 09141 in Washington

Update 12/12/12: A reader has commented that this car has sold for $42,000 and another reminded me that the Craigslist price was $18,000 obo.  Such a deal!

Giulietta Sprint 750B 1493*09141, 1315*07630.  Cosmopolitan Motors appears to have been the ones who picked up this car that was sold out of an estate sale a while back for $20,000 OBO.  A few guys who I correspond with on occasion were trying to buy it so I looked at pictures of it a few times back then – unfortunately I didn’t save any.  Looks like a really nice original-ish car.  I wonder what the current asking is??  Thanks for sending me this Zen.

Screen Shot 2012-12-04 at 9.29.07 AM

One could definitely do worse than this as Sprints go.  Has Autorouche (sp?) headlights same as Jeff has on his Giulia SS.  Hood fits very very well.

Market 445: Sprint 20753, nice but not original

Update 12/12/12:  Listing ended -no bids.  So it goes.

Giulietta Sprint 10105 1493*20753.  This car is on eBay right now out of Illinois from a 0 feedback seller who has 5 cars on offer -the other four being modern Italian exotica.  This Sprint looks very nice, and will certainly satisfy someone looking for a sporty 1950’s Italian coupe, but the purists out there will give it some rough treatment – especially at nearly $40,000 asking.

Body and trim looks great.  Grills appear to have had the ‘chip-cutter’ portions removed and these home-made horizontal bars added.  Nice mirror.
