Market 312: Nicely modified 10105 Sprint at FJ -Sold!

Giulietta Sprint 10105 1493*21131.  This car was recently sold through Fantasy Junction.  Asking price was about $56,000.  I believe this is a car that was sold through Cars Dawydiak a few years ago, but I’ve seen a lot of these cars, so I may be mistaken.  Even though it has been sold, I thought I would do a quick write up since it’s a nice but non-original normale that has been hot-rodded and that sold for more than a few recently sold, nearly perfect restored 101 Normale’s I’ve seen. An interesting data point for those that care.

Nicely painted, trim fits well, lowered, ready for action.

Alfetta oil pan is the less expensive path to 1750/2000 in a Giulietta chassis.  They do stick down a lot further than a 750/101 Veloce pan though.

Not necessarily beautiful or anything like that, but rust free and protected.  I see a Koni shock and Bendix copy fuel pump.

Repro build plate.  I have a picture of this car with the original.  I suppose you could get it.  The font is just never right on repro’s.

Wrong jack, interesting battery, old Pirelli.

Very nicely detailed engine compartment.  They even chromed the throttle linkage and firewall grommet holders.

I could get behind a remote filter.  Anyone know where I could get one of these?

Steering wheel is cool.  Pedal covres are not cool.  Gauge faces are yellowed, lots of extra equipment here.

The ‘suspenders and belt’ approach to license plate illumination.  This is a later rear bumper.

Note absence of corner reflectors and ‘sprint’ script on trunk lid.

Giulietta Sprint 10105 1493*21131.  This car was available from Fantasy Junction briefly for $45,000, and in the time it took me to get my act together to write about it it moved to their sold section.  This car was for sale just over 3 years ago from Cars Dawydiak for about $40,000 and has been making the rounds at local shows since.  It’s a nice car with some non-original detailing and a lot of sensible functional modifications.

They do look great with the suspension all set down like this.  You have to admit that red is a pleaser on these.  Paint on this car is as good as it looks.

Nice symmetry with the doors in the background.  Almost looks like a toy this low.

I’m trying to decide if these wheels have been widened or if it’s just the comparison to these low profile tires that makes them look like they have been.

Busy busy with the red piping in here.  Nothing hard to undo if it’s not your thing.

Nice steering wheel.  Odd pedal covers and interesting to see a sound system in a Sprint.  I kind of like the tune the 1300 plays in mine.

Funny to see a scissor jack back here.  105/115 jacks work on these cars and are inexpensive and look the part.  What’s up with the battery?  Note this also has both the late ‘in-bumper’ license plate lights and an ‘airplane’.  Kind of a belt and suspenders approach to license plate illumination.

Highly polished engine is a 1600 with 1750 pistons installed.  Note remote oil filter.  I suspect it will be a while before the value added from matching numbers is more than the value added from 40+ hp over stock.  Car also has a 5 speed, disk brakes, adjustable shocks and most likely an internally regulated alternator.

Giulietta’s are hot right now -make no mistake.
