Update December 1 2015:Â The lot sold for a healthy $50,850. Â The buyer may be in it to have a big collection of restore-able 1300 Normales, or, like I would do, engage in some creative parts dividing and kit making then sell of the extras and keep the one they really want. Â We shall see.

Giulietta Spider 750D 1495*00722, 1315*00587.
Giulietta Spider 750D 1495*04302.
Giulietta Spider 10103 1495 09841.
Engines 1315*43757, 1315*43440, 00526*26469, 00112*15352, 00102*30859.
Oh, and a 1975 Spider Veloce…
It’s not often a lifetime collection (or is it an accumulation?)Â comes to market, and even more rare that it is a true enthusiast for the thing collected. Â The seller of this collection is the son of the owner, trying to help his dad sell off his stuff to fund a move to a sunnier climate. Â When I first saw the eBay listing I reached out for more info – especially considering there was clearly a “first thousand” Spider pictured. Â Check it out:
The cars. Â What are they cousins? Â Brothers? Â Three generations of the same family. Â Let me take a stab at it: 1956, 1960, 1975 and 1958.
Legitimate enthusiast?- absolutely. Â Gerald Grubb spent a few years showing more expensive, supposedly faster sports cars what a great looking trunk line the might Spider Veloce had. Â This car is not among those for sale. Â Not sure what happened to it.
Lets start with the 1975.
Well, these have come into their own if my occasional noticing has any indication. Â Not a $40,000 car by any stretch, but neither an eight hundred bucker -more a $4000 car or so if it’s rust free and not far from running. Â I expect this car will have negative impact on the sale price since the buyer will want the early cars and consider it a liability that needs to be towed. Â I could see accreting the early Spiders, but…
Now, the best the lot… a 1956 Spicer 750D with a very likely matching number engine and essentially rust free.
This is a “holy grail” (if you are inclined to believe in superstitious stuff) car.  Mid-year 1956 matching number Spider, not much rust, seemingly untouched for at least the last 30 years.  I’m not in the market, but if I was?  I’d be all over this!
Funny how the years compress. Â Looks like a car that has been around for years, used a little, basically uncared for. Â Paint over spray on harness and parts = who cares for 50 years and then now? Protective coating.
The fifty eight…
Painted 30 years ago and… nothing. Â Rust free car without original engine, but a choice of “probably good enough” options included. Â Rock on.
The sixty.
I’ve had crappy Spiders.  This is sort of “upper echelon crappy Spider”.  Nice to have the Celeste panels.  That’s either a REALLY clear, or non existent windshield.  I’ll bet on non existent.
Leaky everything inadvertently inhibits rust.Â
I like the blue.  Hard to believe someone chose French’s mustard yellow over  Dutch or is it French blue.  Oddly a nice color combo: French’s yellow and French blue.  If I was a kid I’d think of the combo in terms of American football team color combos…
There are tens of pictures like this of included parts. Â That’s the 00102 block. Â Both those jacks are early, one has the concentric rings base, the other the star shaped.
So value? Â Well, do you have a big truck, space and time? Â The Euro is cheap, are you going to let these go to Belgium? Â I expect the final sale value will be roughly the value of the ’56 and ’58, with the other two thrown in for free – and a lot of parts that don’t have anything to do with any of these will be included.
If I was near by, had space and had two hours to rub together I’d buy this lot. Â I’d detail the 1975 and see it off first. Â Then I’d clean and bolt together all three, with the best parts going to the 1956, then the 1958 then the 1960. Â I’d sell off the 1958 and 1960 and any parts I didn’t need for the 1956, and probably end up with a near free 1956.
What’s this, about 400hp?
Would’ve been in a 10112 Sprint or 10123 Spider. Â
1600 from a 105. Â Giulia Super?
Belongs in a Spider around 03700.
Belongs in Spider around 04000. Â Close enough for 04300? Â That’s where I’d put it.
Look closely, lots o’ stuff.
There are probably about 10 of you right now wishing you had these.
Must be a really big bucket of bolts somewhere… Â I think I’ve seen most of the bits needed to put these together.
