Market 389: Sprint 10105 21145 -apart and rust free Giuliettas.com exclusive

Update 2/24/12:  This car has been sold.  Buyer is on the west coast and it seems like a good fit -the right car/the right buyer -and I get to help!

Giulietta Sprint 10105*21145.  This car is available now out of Northern California from a local Alfa enthusiast who was preparing it for CSRG racing.  It is a California black plate car, tracing history and ownership through the years between Southern and Northern California.  The condition of the body speaks for itself in the pictures below -no rust (well, there is a little light surface rust -but nothing needing new metal IMHO) and very straight panels with a coat of black paint applied as long as 10 years ago.  Someone with space and some skills of assembly could get this car together into driver form in their spare time in a year or less, with a little persistence.  Why is he selling?  He bought a nearly finished GT Junior race car.

Contact me at sprints@giuliettas.com and I’ll put you in touch with the seller.

The body looks really good -especially if you like a black Giulietta.  Black is very popular on Spiders, but you don’t see too many black Sprints.  Would look great with a red/gray interior.  Hood and door fit looks right on this side.  I believe some suspension work has been done on the front end of the car.

Market 370: ‘Completely concours’ Sprint 158658

Giulietta Sprint 10102 158658.  This car is available now from Hexagon out of London England for 49,950 Pounds, about $76,700 at the time of writing.  It is described as completely concours, having received an ‘astonishing’ nut and bolt restoration.  It looks very very good in the pictures but as with most cars being held to this kind of standard, it has some loose ends.

Paint looks phenomenal, as does the trim.  No rocker trim?  Front wheel is a Borrani, the rest are Fergat’s.  Hood and door fit is amazing.  Tires are a little ‘modern’ for a Giulietta -but that’s a matter of taste.

Market 352: Gorgeous Sprint 385833 in Italy

Giulietta Sprint 1300 10102*385833.  This car is available now from Luzzago in Roncadella, Brescia.  Color combo on this one is one of my favorites, the condition is very good, and the asking price is 25,000 Euro -about $32,500 at the time of writing.  This car is one of the last few Giulietta’s made -production ending at 386000.

I see this blue on a lot of 2600 Sprints, 105 GT’s, TI’s and Supers.  I might have to paint the Glas this color.  This all looks impeccable.

Market 351: Sprint 350182 in Holland

Giulietta Sprint 10102*350182. This car is listed on Anamera and is available now out of the Netherlands.  It is described as a good runner/driver that needs some detail work to make it perfect.  Price is 19,500 Euro’s, a little less than $25,500 at the time of writing.

Car was imported from the USA in 1992 and repainted then.  Looks pretty good.  Suspension is a little high in the front.  Wears original white Carello turn signal lenses.

Market 340: Sprint set up for racing

Update 12/14/11: 34 bids were placed, but the car failed to sell for $15,000.  Rightfully so.  Makes me wonder about where the best place to market this car is.

Giulietta Sprint 10102 1493*24148.  Out of Southport CT comes this Sprint racer via eBay.  It has been listed a few times before but I don’t remember how much it got to without selling.  Car looks to have been imported from Italy.  This kind of set up seems like it should command some sort of premium, but with tastes seeming to favor restorations or originality these days, this will probably sell for less than you’d imagine.

Cool stuff.  Body and paint do look very nice.  Looks like a street car with stickers and driving lights -speaking of which the left driving light is set up to make a pool of light a few feet in front of the car -needs adjustment.

Market 334: Giuliettas exclusive 101 Sprint project in CA

Update 11/26/11: I got some more pictures from the seller.  The trunk rust situation is worse than I expected -not horrible -just needing attention.  Still, it could be a good deal for the money.  Throw them an offer -it may stick.
This could be patched, but replacement would be cleaner.  Not the biggest job in the world and not really a sign that the rest of the car is rusty.  My Sprint had it’s trunk floor replaced and you’d be hard pressed to find rust anywhere else on it.
Update 11/12/11: Seller has received some interest but it’s still available.  $13,000 obo?

Giulietta Sprint 10105*21453.  This car is available right now out of Southern California for $14,000 obo.  It is fairly original, with blue paint over original white and  original drivetrain.  Interior is decent but the seats are not original.  There is a tiny bit of rust in the trunk battery corner and in the corner of the rear windshield, but nothing unusual or terminal.  If you’re in California and looking for a very good car to fix up as a driver project -this is your car.
A better shade of blue than the preceding SS.  Car looks straight and solid here -you may get away with a quick respray of the nose and tail.  I’d make it mechanically sound and drive it as is.

Market 325: Project/parts Sprint on eBay

Update 10/08/11: Sold for $3748.  A great deal for someone who doesn’t mind parting them out.

Of note is this Giulietta Sprint on eBay, sold as a companion to a 67 GTV.  Pictures/description etc are basically useless, but if you’re in the neighborhood you may get what turns out to be a decent Sprint for a bargain.
It’s a Sprint.  It has European marker lights.  It has glass.  Missing hood.  Moderately rusty.  With Sprints bringing the money they are these days and lots of cars being restored, a chunk of change could be made taking this car apart if it proves too rusty.

Market 195: Sprint in Portugal

Update 9/22/11:In Portugal, with Vent window -this Sprint is back on eBay.
I think I would take fresh pictures rather than reuse these close to 2 year olds…
Update 7/1/10: No sale last time I suppose. Now on eBay again… better $20K?  Doubtful.
Update 6/24/10: Auction ended at $22,850, reserve met.  Not such a bad deal when you consider it wouldn’t wouldn’t be too hard to turn it into a nice car with a nearly unique feature in the vent window.
Update 6/10/10: This car has made its way to ebay and the seller has listed the vin number -1493*08477, so I now have another to add to the register.  Condition is described as ‘restored to like new’ but it’s not… incorrect driver restoration is more like it.  The kind of car that gets bid up to just under $20K.  Vent window is still a neat thing though.
Original post March 3, 2010: Giulietta Sprint. I found this car on a Japanese classic car site and it’s available out of Portugal for just under $33,000.  A Portugese car on a Japanese website makes perfect sense really -the Japanese are highly refined in their car collecting and own a disproportionate number of interesting Italian cars, many Giuliettas among them.  Why not market directly to the money?
Looking back over the last few weeks I’ve been trending toward more international market entries (among the posts about welding on the SS).  What’s up you ask?  Well, there aren’t many Giuliettas for sale in the US right now.  Must be the weather!
The body and paint on this car is really pretty nice, panels fit well, trim embellishes as intended, not much to complain about to be seen.  A careful viewer of the above picture will note a rare feature.

Market 313: Nice survivor Sprint on Bring a Trailer

Giulietta Sprint 10105 1493*21069.  Bring a Trailer has this car listed as an exclusive for a long time owner.  A good portion of the paint is original Amber White, interior is original.  Engine was rebuilt 30 years ago to Veloce spec though aside from manifold and carbs, a cold air/filter system needs to be purchased.  Asking price is $23,500.  A bit high by usual Sprint project standards, but this is no ‘usual’ Sprint project.  A Sprint buyer looking for originality, no rust, black plates, complete history etc will have no problem paying for this.  I suspect it is sold as I write, but I want to share this beauty with any Giuliettas readers who are not BaT readers.
Resprayed door is apparent in this picture.  Lost headlight ring?  I still want a pair of these lenses.  You still have that one for me Brad?
