Market 354: 750 Spider Veloce 01925 in Portugal

Giulietta Spider Veloce 750F 1495*01925.  This car is available now out of Portugal.  It sports a 101 normal 1300 engine and looks okay.  Asking price is 42,000 euro’s -a bit high for what is seen in the pictures.  Looks like maybe the same seller as the vent window Sprint in Portugal.

Looks decent here -red paint is lustrous, red and uniform.  Rear view mirror looks correct -really, no big alarm bells.  I doubt that hard top is a Pininfarina original.

Market 353: Spider Veloce project 03317 in Italy

Giulietta Spider 750F 1495*03317, 1315*30772 (missing), 1315*45283 (now).  Wow, I just spent 15 minutes looking to see if I wrote about this car before -time to organize my files!!  This car is available now from Ghibli Auto Classiche e Sportive in Italy.  Conditon is not so good, but it’s a Veloce and it’s in the land where all the spare parts seem to be headed.

Looking so-so.  Parts are present.  I want to start an ‘as found’ movement, where you get a car like this, make it work, and use it looking like this.  Would be fun and boost Tetanus shot sales.

Market 344: Spider Veloce project 750F 03409

Giulietta Spider Veloce 750F 1495*03409, 1315*30905 (missing, 40168 included):  This car is available from Beverly Hills Car Club for $29,500.  Car is in okay condition, being generally solid and attractive, but having a lot of questionable repairs in evidence, and in need of a lot of mechanical work.

Paint looks to have been competently applied.  Chrome parts need chrome.  Hood fits pretty good.  Not sure what the holes in the bumpers are all about.

Market 343: Spider Veloce project 750F 05994

Update 12/20/11:  Reserve not met.  It’s a Veloce.  It’s rough.  It’s a Veloce.  It’s incomplete.  It’s a Veloce.  It’s…

Giulietta Spider Veloce 750F 1495*05994, 1315*32354 (missing). This car is on eBay right now from Wholesale California in Costa Mesa.  It spent the better part of it’s existence in a field in Washington and it shows.  Lots to fix, but it is a 750 Veloce!  Original engine is missing, but a blank block is included, not sure if it’s a 750 or 101.  Car is listed on their site for $15,900.

Just looks overly scruffy in this view.  Trim is all pretty decent when you consider the elements.

Market 339: Leafy Spider on eBay

Update 1/3/12: I have it on pretty good word that the car sold for $5500.
Update 12/14/11: Auction was pulled.  An off eBay deal?

Update 12/5/11: Giulia Spider Veloce 10118*390672.  She’s a Veloce!

Kip sent me a link to this Spider on eBay when it was first posted with the caption ‘car in a barn, without the barn’.  Pretty good description.  Car has a Pininfarina hard top guaranteeing it will sell for at least $1500.  Even the optimistic optimist in me thinks this is a parts car.

You can bet the left side of this car is REALLY rusty.  Looks like a reasonable car that got left for some reason and expired while waiting for it’s masters return.  What am I saying, buy this, fix it, run it.  Vroom!

Market 336: Spider 1600 Veloce project

Update 12/3/11: Auction was ended early, car is no longer available.

Giulia Spider Veloce 1600 AR390369, 00121*01965.  This car is on eBay right now at $9500 with 5 days to go and perfectly represents the opposite end of the spectrum from Market 335’s nicely restored Spider Veloce 1600 AR390532 that is $68,500 and listed as ‘sale pending’.  Seller says it’s numbers matching and complete but in need of much metal work.
Am I the only one that looks at a car in this condition and has a hard time accounting for the degradation?  ‘I have a great idea’, says weekend warrior shade tree mechanic who fancies himself a restorer, either blind to, or imagining himself capable of seeing the very complex process through for 1000+ hours and at an expense of $60,000 over two or three years.  Taking it apart is easy…

Market 335: Clean 1600 Spider Veloce

Giulia Spider Veloce 1600 AR390532, 00121*02129 This car is available right now from Fantasy Junction in Emeryville California -my local candy store. These 1600 Veloce’s are highly sought after, having lots of power and flexibility due to the Veloce spec 1600 shared with the Sprint Speciale, the legendary handling of the Alfa Spiders, great brakes and all the Veloce goodies.  Survivor-ship of this rare model is pretty high if my register is any indication.  Asking price is $68,500.
Considering FJ only deals in the finest examples, this car is as expected.  Clean, straight, detailed and ready for the road.  All chrome bits have been restored.

Market 302: Spider Veloce starter project

Giulietta Spider 10107 1495*07526. This car is available now from Jack L Hunt Automotive in San Rafael via Hemmings.  Car is the odd combination of a transition 1300 Spider Veloce and a 1600 Normale engine.  Seller says it comes with California Black Plates.  Cool!  Asking price is $24,500, only $74,500 cheaper than slightly younger sibling 07600 who made $99,000 at Amelia Island recently.
Great shut lines!  Drivers door shuts as well.  Nose is pretty good too.

Market 253: Spider Veloce driver in SF Bay Area

Update 3/21/11: This car is now listed by the seller in Hemmings.  Price has been reduced to $32,000.  Not a bad deal!
Original post 8/25/10: Giulietta Spider Veloce 10107 1495*10201. This car is available now in the San Francisco Bay Area for $39,875.    The seller has owned the car since 1985 and has been using it since.  Engine in the car is not original and has been recently rebuilt but the original comes with the car.
Looks like a really nice patina on a well loved driver -the perfect compliment to my Sprint -alas I don’t have $40K burning a hole in my pocket…

Market 293: '61 Spider Veloce Ex-Carrera Panamerica

Giulietta Spider Veloce 10107*170380. This car is on eBay right now and has been featured on Bringatrailer.  Eduardo (seller) sent me a bunch of pictures you can see if you follow the vin link.  Engine is a later 2 liter and a lot of modifications have been done that make it ineligible for most vintage race series, but with a few creature comforts added this would make a great event car.  Email me of you can’t extract the sellers info from the above links.
Looks like it should for a rally/race car.  Hood is a later Giulia 1600 item, no doubt used to help clear the 2 liter.  The silver lines seen through the grills are the edges of a big radiator.
