Market 290: Early restored RHD 750 Spider in Australia

Update 3/14/11: Ol’ eagle-eye Laurence in the comments identified this car thus:

“Yes, This car 1495*00422, was documented in the Giuliettaletta issue 81, Spring 2004, by its owner Richard Granger, who purchased the car originating from Fantasy Junction (California) on 04/15/1996.
In 1997 he descided to do a RHD conversion, and to add “Veloce mods” to the normale configuration. Original engine 1315*40508 was replaced with 1315*31665. RHD installation was patterned from a RHD 1964 Giulia Spider. Center (now left-hand) gearshift was retained.Electronic ignition and some driving mods were added.
The work appears to have been done to a good standard in NSW, and the shops are listed. The car then Joined the Grangers in Napier, New Zealand”

Spider 750D 1495*00422. Gavin sent me a link to this car being sold by Dutton’s in South Yarra listed on Car Sales in Australia.  Asking price is $99,950 AU dollars or $101,000 US.  Description is a bit off from what is seen in the pictures and the numbers.  Not a 1959 for sure.
Nice red… sort of ox blood or something.  Very clean, very nicely assembled and very expensive!  Note steering wheel placement.

Market 288: blue Berlina in the Netherlands

This Berlina was brought to my attention by Nick in San Francisco.  Great color.  From Google language tools: “Literally found in a barn in Italy. She was then sold them the house was sold. She has four doors. In good condition bright blue car with light gray sky cover. The mileage is 107,785. The car is technically underway. The car will still go to the body shop to go here and there to be updated.”  Asking price is supposedly around 13,000 Euros.
This blue (or a similar one) is more frequently seen on lightweight Sprint Veloce’s.  Pretty good on a sedan.  I like the lack of bumper -looks sportier than usual.

Market 283: Another nice Giulia SS

Update 3/7/11: A regular reader tells me he went to check this car out when the Scottsdale auctions were going on and it was sold for full $85,000 asking price a few hours before he got to the showroom to see it.  Serious money!  I should be back at this regularly for a while -sorry for the interruption… oddly, readership has stayed steady.  Thanks for reading.
Update 1/13/11. This charmer has found its way onto eBay.
Giulia SS 10121*381099, 00121 engine. This car is available now from Brighton Motorsports in Arizona.  Seller claims it took a best of class at Monterey weekends Concorso Italiano in 2010 -if so then a lot of you readers will have seen this car before. The usual “140 surviving examples” quote is in the description, I currently list 224 by vin number and know of at least 30 that I don’t have vins for.  I have pictures of 49 cars too!  No price is stated.
Nice, red, shiny, well fitted example.  This is a great angle for these car!

Market 270: Scrappy runner Sprint project

Update 1/12/11: Back for more on eBay!
Update 12/15/10: 19 bids with a high of $4459.44 left the reserve unmet.

Giulietta Sprint 10102*350206, 00102*30507. This car is on eBay right now out of New Jersey.  Some small stuff is missing but all in all it is a fairly complete and worthy project -as long as the price doesn’t get too high -it’s under $600 as I write.
Nose is busted up but not too bad.  I like this color on Sprints -there is one in my area this color and in person the color suits it very well.

Market 286: "Structurally Magnificent" 1600 Spider

Giulia Spider 1600 10123*378523, 00112*13849. Fantasy Junction, my local $ports and $pecialty car dealer, has in their showroom now this late 1600 Spider, a good example of why you try and buy a car out of California.  As rust free as you could ask for and priced to match at $44,500.  Their site lists it as ‘sale pending’ so move fast if this is your thing.
FJ always has this angle and for good reason -a handsome car made even more handsome.  Looks good no?

Market #7: Giulia SS racer 380352

Update 1/8/11: This car is available again -this time it looks like it’s in Germany.  The asking price is 41,900 Euro’s or a little over $54,000.  The SS’s keep coming!
Makes me wonder if it really is in Germany…

Originally posted 5/13/2008: Giulia Sprint Speciale 10121-380352. Available through Alfaholics for 39,000 Euros, about $60,000 at time of writing. Entire text of the advertisement reads: “Body # 380352. LHD. Body excellent. Engine tuned at 150 BHP. Roll bar. Racing tuned. 2008 FIA papers. Ready for season 2008. This car has done Tour Auto many times. Price: € 39 000. Car is in Paris.” I assume an inquiry would receive a in depth account of the car. Details of the car reveal a decent car was used as a starting point to make a pretty serious FIA racer. I like the lightweight plexiglass windows and lack of trim and if it was a track only car I could live with the interior, but for street use I’d like a little more of a period look on the inside.
Always a nice profile. Wheels are later Sedan or GT items, the cheap way to put more tire under one of these without major body or suspension rework.

Market 284: Giulietta SS 00228

Giulietta Sprint Speciale 10120*00228, 00120*00627. You may note that this is the fifth SS in a row I’ve found on the market and written about.  Good time to be shopping for a nice one.  This particular car is in Germany at Movendi -“The spirit of classic cars’.  Price is 49,900 Euro’s or about $65,000.
I’m running out of words here.  Nice, red, shiny, well turned out and with its hood slightly ajar.  Cool.

Market 282: Nice original Giulia SS in Belgium

This Giulia SS is offered by Mecanic Import out of Belgium with a current listing on eBay for $56,000.  The seller claims it is has “never received a ground up restoration, but kept in good condition over the years”.  I see some trivial non-original stuff but all in all it looks like a great car.  The fact that it is being marketed to the USA from Belgium makes me wonder if the market is going soft in Europe for SS’s.  If that’s the case we may see a softening here in the US too.  Hmmm.
Nice down-low perspective shot.  Bright stuff looks -well- bright.  Passenger side wiper arm looks a little wayward.
