Update 5\/6\/12:<\/strong>\u00a0 I don’t remember if it failed to get any bids, or was ended early, but this car is back on eBay<\/a> after a brief hiatus.\u00a0 Seller seems to have done some research and knows what they are selling this time around.\u00a0 Car looks a lot better now and the opening bid has gone from $500 to $6499.\u00a0 Such a deal.<\/p>\n

“\u00a0 I am offering up for auction my 1965 Giulia 1600 Spider “garage find”.\u00a0 Mostly complete and untouched with numbers correct motor. A little rust is present in the usual places, but I would consider this to be a pretty solid car. Originally a red car, with black and red interior. Engine compartment and undersides of the hood and trunk lid still\u00a0show the original red paint.\u00a0This\u00a0Alfa has been stored for many years\u00a0and does\u00a0not run. I have not tried to start it. The motor does turn over, and pretty much all of the electrical was in working order when I hooked up a battery a couple of\u00a0weeks ago. Blinkers, taillights, and brake lights functional, no headlights. The interior is all original, and\u00a0in good original condition. Dash, and door panels are nice. Seats are OK, dash pad is in poor condition. All of the glass is in good condition. Steering wheel is nice. The convertible top is in poor shape, but the frame appears ok. There are no reproduction parts on this car. Spare tire\u00a0is included, but not pictured.\u00a0Clean and clear title in my name. Have key for ignition and door lock\/trunk key.\u00a0I also have some hard to find Giulia parts that I will be listing on ebay in the next few days(rocker spears,\u00a0pair of buckets, veloce intake).<\/span><\/span>“<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Original post 12\/3\/11: Giulia Spider 1600 10123*379319<\/a>, 00112*15107.<\/strong>\u00a0 This car is on eBay<\/a> out of Buhl, MN.\u00a0 Seller says their dad brought it home years ago, parked it in the garage and that was it.\u00a0 Never moved until now as a commodity.\u00a0 Condition is not horrible, nor is it great.\u00a0 It could probably be put back on the road as-is, with some minor patching and mechanical repairs.\u00a0 As a restoration candidate it needs some rust repair, but not as much as a lot of cars I’ve seen.\u00a0 Price is ~$4000 as I write, with a day left on the auction.<\/p>\n

He drove it home, parked it in the garage and it has been off the road since then.\u00a0The car appears to be\u00a0original and fairly complete.\u00a0Motor is numbers matching and equipped with a solex carburator. I doubt any of the drivetrain has ever been out of this car. The interior is\u00a0very original and still retains all of the original floor mats.\u00a0Door panels,\u00a0seats and dash are in good original shape.\u00a0The carpet is long gone, the two rear side panels are also missing, and no glove box knob. The convertible top is in poor shape, the top frame\u00a0functions properly and is in good condition. At some point, probably in the 1970’s\u00a0the car was repainted brown, traces of the original red remain all over the car(engine bay,trunk,door sills). The body is pretty solid. Floor pans and trunk pan are decent. Doors are very nice, no rust. Glass is good, minor scratches if any. Front trim pieces(grille,eyebrows) are missing from collision damage. Front clip has some sway to it, but nothing a good bodyman could’nt straighten. Inner rockers look good for the most part. Outer drivers side rocker is soft. Rust damage on front driver side crossmember, and rear pass side crossmember. Rear framerails are good. To be clear, this Alfa needs a full restoration. It is an honest car with few surprises, for a straight forward restoration. I have all keys and clean\/clear title in my name. Some extra parts come with car: windshield, shifter, brass lug nuts, door strike and couple other trinkets. Rear brakes are locked up. Odd that it has early gauges.\u00a0 Seats don’t look to bad.\u00a0 Don’t be fooled, there will be rust in the shells.\u00a0 Steering wheel, mirror and vent windows are in better than average condition for a car like this.<\/strong><\/p>\n

I\u00a0 like the heater bypass.\u00a0 These engines always seem to run but are always really tired.\u00a0 Not too bad to rebuild if the head isn’t bent.\u00a0 I think the original airbox is included.<\/strong><\/p>\n
