Every Summer Pixar’s in-house\u00a0car show Motorama takes place on the magnificent Pixar grounds.\u00a0 Designed as an opportunity for Pixar employees to show off their rides and hang out, the show\u00a0presents\u00a0an interesting cross section, as is evidenced\u00a0in the event photos<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

I really like the free-for-all, run-what-you-brung\u00a0nature of this show.\u00a0 Too often I find myself bored at a car show, wondering how many more Corvettes or new Ferrari’s I can look at before I am completely desensitized.\u00a0 Highlights for me included a Pixar employee owned\u00a0perfect VW split window camper bus, a Peugeot 402 articulated hard-top cabriolet on loan from Fantasy Junction, a Norton Manx engined Cooper and\u00a0a gorgeous\u00a0red and silver Lotus Elite.\u00a0 Here are a few of my favorite pictures, the rest can be seen here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>BMW \/2 in the Pixar atrium.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>East European girls liked the Fiat.\u00a0 It reminded them of home.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Suddenly I want a Lotus Elite.\u00a0 Coventry Climax engine detail pictures in the slide-show document just how great this car is.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Alfa Giulietta Sprint Veloce wasted no time marking its territory\u00a0with both engine oil and differential gear oil.\u00a0 At least I don’t have to carry a plastic bag when I take it out.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Taken out of the Pick-N-Pull setting and put in a car show, this car was suddenly interesting, there are some nice detail shots in the slide-show.\u00a0 I told Stephanie in 10 more years it will have a similar appeal to her Fiat 124 sedan, and not only because it’s the only one on the road.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Lunch was a choice of hamburger, Hot dog or pulled pork sandwich all served with corn on the cob.\u00a0 In the atrium tables with salads and cookies were set up.\u00a0 Local law enforcement\u00a0provided the grand finale landing a\u00a0helicopter on the soccer field.\u00a0 Always a treat to have a bunch of grass and dust blown in your eyes while you’re trying\u00a0to cover your ears.\u00a0 Thanks for a fun day Pixar!\u00a0<\/p>\n
