{"id":7329,"date":"2010-05-30T13:45:54","date_gmt":"2010-05-30T20:45:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/giuliettas.com\/?p=7329"},"modified":"2010-05-30T13:45:54","modified_gmt":"2010-05-30T20:45:54","slug":"the-rear-view-mirror-ii","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rufushamilton.com\/giuliettas\/2010\/05\/30\/the-rear-view-mirror-ii\/","title":{"rendered":"The rear view mirror II"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As part of my push to just get the Giulietta SS on the road and to satisfy a momentary curiosity piqued when I unpacked the Giulia SS, I got my rearview mirrors together and compared the parts. \u00a0As you can see it is true that these two are exactly the same. \u00a0Plan was to make the best unrestored mirror I could from the parts on hand, see if there were any parts I was missing and get a sense of the work required to have a restored mirror be the end result. \u00a0I&#8217;m not missing any parts and to have a restored mirror I need to: \u00a0Get the body re-wrinkle finished (~$5 can), get the base and surround rechromed (~$100) , get the glass resilvered (~$20) and put it all together.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-7330\" title=\"IMG_1546\" src=\"http:\/\/giuliettas.files.wordpress.com\/2010\/05\/img_1546.jpg?w=300&#038;resize=300%2C225\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/rufushamilton.com\/giuliettas\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/img_1546.jpg?w=640&amp;ssl=1 640w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/rufushamilton.com\/giuliettas\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/img_1546.jpg?resize=300%2C225&amp;ssl=1 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Assembled and parts side by side for comparison. \u00a0The disassembled one came with the Giulia SS, the other was an eBay purchase.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-7333\" title=\"IMG_1549\" src=\"http:\/\/giuliettas.files.wordpress.com\/2010\/05\/img_1549.jpg?w=225&#038;resize=225%2C300\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/rufushamilton.com\/giuliettas\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/img_1549.jpg?w=480&amp;ssl=1 480w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/rufushamilton.com\/giuliettas\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/img_1549.jpg?resize=225%2C300&amp;ssl=1 225w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Not exactly sure what the paper is for&#8230;
