Partially stripped for restoration but never completed. Acquired by current owner in 1994 and car then was stored for the next 8-years.<\/p>\n<p>Semi restoration undertaken by current owner since 2002<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 body had rust in floor-pan, boot floor, door bottoms, bulkhead and sills; new sills fitted and rust removed elsewhere<br \/>\n\u2022 car stripped to bare metal and repainted<br \/>\n\u2022 leather seats and new carpets<br \/>\n\u2022 Nardi wood-rim steering wheel<br \/>\n\u2022 brake cylinders re-sleeved; drums skimmed and new linings<br \/>\n\u2022 new propshaft<br \/>\n\u2022 front suspension removed and re-bushed<br \/>\n\u2022 all bright-work stripped and re-chromed<br \/>\n\u2022 new window rubbers, channels etc.<br \/>\n\u2022 1300 engine blew up in 2003 and then fitted with 1750 motor completely overhauled and five speed gearbox<br \/>\n\u2022 new stainless steel exhaust<br \/>\n\u2022 new shocks<br \/>\n\u2022 new tyres<br \/>\n\u2022 the rear bumper not fitted &#8211; see photographs &#8211; but comes with the car<\/p>\n<p>This car was not clean or polished and had been standing in the rain outside a workshop on the day that I photographed her in January 2009. The car is intrinsically very good and it would not take a whole bunch of money to make her in to a car that anyone would be proud of.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/giuliettas.files.wordpress.com\/2010\/03\/890920.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-6616\" title=\"alfa giulietta sprint 10102 161329 interior\" src=\"http:\/\/giuliettas.files.wordpress.com\/2010\/03\/890920.jpg?w=300&#038;resize=300%2C200\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/rufushamilton.com\/giuliettas\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/03\/890920.jpg?w=500&amp;ssl=1 500w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/rufushamilton.com\/giuliettas\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/03\/890920.jpg?resize=300%2C200&amp;ssl=1 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><strong>Egad -what are those seats all about, and that dash top??\u00a0 Rear view mirror placement is a little unnerving.\u00a0 I don&#8217;t mind the steeringwheel, but the beige-out is not doing it for me.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/giuliettas.files.wordpress.com\/2010\/03\/890922.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-6617\" title=\"alfa giulietta sprint 10102 161329 gauges\" src=\"http:\/\/giuliettas.files.wordpress.com\/2010\/03\/890922.jpg?w=300&#038;resize=300%2C200\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/rufushamilton.com\/giuliettas\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/03\/890922.jpg?w=500&amp;ssl=1 500w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/rufushamilton.com\/giuliettas\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/03\/890922.jpg?resize=300%2C200&amp;ssl=1 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><strong>Gauge facia is supposed to be black -wrinkle finish as a restoration choice is not uncommon, but originally just matte black.\u00a0 In body color something is lost.\u00a0 Yes, that dash top needs immediate attention.\u00a0 I don&#8217;t know if I could even test drive this car with that on there.\u00a0 On the bright side, facia repaint and dash top remediation are both easy and cheap.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/giuliettas.files.wordpress.com\/2010\/03\/890924.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-6612\" title=\"alfa giulietta sprint 10102 161329 seats\" src=\"http:\/\/giuliettas.files.wordpress.com\/2010\/03\/890924.jpg?w=300&#038;resize=300%2C200\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/rufushamilton.com\/giuliettas\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/03\/890924.jpg?w=500&amp;ssl=1 500w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/rufushamilton.com\/giuliettas\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/03\/890924.jpg?resize=300%2C200&amp;ssl=1 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><strong>Oh wow.\u00a0 In the interest of not generating too much land fill I think the carpets could be saved.\u00a0 What goes with\u00a0beige carpets?<\/strong>\u00a0 <strong>Black, possibly dark brown and err, well not much.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>On the outside the car is pretty decent.\u00a0 The addition of a 1750 (if well done) means it&#8217;s startlingly fast and fun to drive if the suspension is set up reasonably well.\u00a0 The work done to the brightwork and all means it can be made to really shine.\u00a0 I admit the interior is not for everyone -probably less than .05% of people in the market for a Sprint, but is at least usable until some Sprint seats can be sourced, and at that point $1000 would correct most of the faults.\u00a0 So whats the problem?\u00a0 Read the second to last sentence of the description quoted above.\u00a0 Reminds me of that advert\u00a0for a 159 or some such where the picture of the car across the yard is taken from inside the house through a window.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/giuliettas.com\/2009\/12\/28\/sprint-market-review-2009\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">2009 Sprints<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/giuliettas.com\/2010\/01\/20\/sprint-market-review-2008\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">2008 Sprints<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Giulietta Sprint 10102*161329.\u00a0 This 1961 Sprint\u00a0is available now out of South Africa.\u00a0\u00a0A familiar story,\u00a0it\u00a0has been in good-intentioned hands since the mid-1970&#8217;s, seeing one owner spend 20 years on disassembly and probably sporadic attempts at little tasks before selling in 1994 to the\u00a0current owner who got it into the shape you see here.\u00a0 There is a &hellip;
