apparent there was more to do than anticipated and it slid down the usual slippery slope towards a full, though sympathetic towards its original state restoration. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a charming specimen among the raw data. \u00a0I remember watching it reach $50,000 after some last minute aggressive bidding, and thinking &#8211; &#8220;Wow, these\u00a0have hit the big time!&#8221; \u00a0Looking back from this moment, five years later, this car appears to have been very well bought. \u00a0Anyone here a proud owner? \u00a0Where is 04351 now??<\/p>\n<p><a &#8220;&#8230;..yes.&#8221; and lots of &#8220;How much right now?&#8217; variations,\u00a06 seller added description updates and 29 bids placed this car sold for $50,000 even.\u00a0 If this was an SS and it was in this condition it would be $30 &#8211; $35,000.<\/p>\n<p>This represents a change for the fortunes of the early\u00a0Giulietta Spider Veloce.\u00a0 Just last\u00a0Spring\u00a0near sibling 1495*04358 in nicely restored condition\u00a0sold for\u00a0$1 less than this, and last months $44,000 result for 1495*05063\u00a0are proof.\u00a0 Considering the numbers produced, \u00a0attrition and the percentage of survivors that\u00a0are no longer original matching numbers\u00a0cars, these originals can only go up in price.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Giulietta Spider Veloce 1495*04351, 1315*31400.\u00a0 <\/strong>This car is on <a href=\"http:\/\/cgi.ebay.com\/ebaymotors\/Alfa-Romeo-Spider-Veloce-ALFA-ROMEO-GIULIETTA-SPIDER-VELOCE-1958_W0QQitemZ200415443135QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUS_Cars_Trucks?hash=item2ea9b0f8bf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">eBay right now <\/a>out of Michigan. d&amp;T lists this car in mid-1958 production among a run of about a dozen sequencial Spider Veloces.\u00a0 This car reeks of patina and it would be a shame to undo the years by redoing everything, but classic cars have not yet, and may never catch up to &#8216;regular&#8217; antiques like 19th century furniture where refinishing a piece destroys 90% of the value.\u00a0 There are obvious limits to this where vehicles are concerned, function being paramount, but a car like this deserves to be let show\u00a0its age.\u00a0 I guarantee that someday patina will be valued over refinish, because if for no other reason, it will be the rarest state.\u00a0 Repaint a deteriorated repaint?\u00a0 Tough call, would have indicates it needs paint because the paint on it is a lacquer repaint that is peeling.\u00a0 I like.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a -you&#8217;ll have to spend that $3000 elsewhere.\u00a0 Intake parts?\u00a0 Err, another $1500 + you get to spend.\u00a0 The intake pieces you see here have value and are arguably better from a functional standpoint (not sure about foam dome air cleaners), but you know, if you spend $2000 putting 29&#8243; chrome rims on your Escalade, you better have a big rhinestone encrusted badge about 10&#8243; x\u00a0 14&#8243; behind the front wheel but in front of the door jamb that says emphatically &#8220;29&#8221;&#8221;.\u00a0 I digress though, this engine compartment looks great, and a well spent $4000 &#8211; $6000 would have you complaining about cold starts in no time.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a original shape is included.\u00a0 A little care and cleaning would see this looking good.\u00a0 New carpet is available but if it was me I&#8217;d put the word out and wait for pieces with similar -but hey, it is a 51 year old car -at least I don&#8217;t see the sky through a hole.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a underbody products would have this looking stellar.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This car is likely to be expensive to the point of surprising the seller, who seems to think it&#8217;s valuable, but to not be sure to what extent.\u00a0 It will probably head to Europe for a quick and dirty blow over at the hands of a profit seeker, be sold for a reasonable profit to a wealthy German\u00a0who will rerestore it with neither the haste nor the lack of attention\u00a0to detail of the middle man and in the end it will be a really stellar example.<\/p>\n<p>Me?\u00a0 I&#8217;d just wax it and drive it\u00a0to work.\u00a0 You think I&#8217;m kidding, but wait and see what I do with the SS&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/giuliettas.com\/2009\/10\/19\/market-155-58-spider-veloce\/\" target=\"_blank\"
