Giulia Spider 10123*392625.<\/strong> This car was on eBay last week listed as a parts car by a pretty well known Alfa guy. The auction disappeared before I could get a post together about it, but for the sake of the poor soul who will one day buy this car with an aim to restoring it and happen upon my blog, I feel like I better include it.
\n\"!BdIOcFwBGk~$(KGrHqUOKjMEq5RRLe9mBK3gy+5iK!~~_3\"<\/a>So far so good. I like the fog lights. Headlight and headlight rings missing is kind of typical for a car described as a parts car. Nose sheet metal looks good on the outside. Windsheild doesn’t appear to be cracked.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"!BdIOnfwB2k~$(KGrHqMOKiUEq4),nWfBBK3gzecuYw~~_3\"<\/a>Rockers do rot, make no mistake. This car needs some attention down there, but I haven’t seen anything to make me write it off yet.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"!BdI6fkw!mk~$(KGrHqIOKiwEq4bSsd8jBK3i93rtsg~~_3\"<\/a>Trunk edges are very rusty, but the panel fit is great. bumper cornets are missing. Tail lights are Euro amber top type.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"!BdIOq(gB2k~$(KGrHqIOKk!Eq32pjQcCBK3gzli)3w~~_3\"<\/a>Hey wait a minute, the other side of the car has 101 15″ whels, these look like 105 wheels. More rusty rockers and a scabby looking soft top.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"!BdI6hTgCGk~$(KGrHqUOKicEq5HCbNGQBK3i9-ivfg~~_3\"<\/a>This trunk looks better than the trunk in my recently sold Spider. I see hub-caps and headlight rings and shocks and other rusty stuff.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"!BdIOkcgBGk~$(KGrHqUOKj8Eq5QTqY98BK3gzV4V2w~~_3\"<\/a>This is promising actually. If it’s not frozen I bet it will run, with a head gasket I bet it will run well. See that rectangular badge above the air filter snorkle? I am reasonably sure that is a build plate stating that this car was assembled by NSU in Germany which makes sense with the Euro tail light lenses.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"!BdIOhrQ!mk~$(KGrHqQOKigEq4PVQwybBK3gzOp3)g~~_3\"<\/a>I bet those gauges are metric. Seats are assumed to have rusty bottom pans, floor doesn’t look horrible. Steering wheel looks fine.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"!BdI6dsg!2k~$(KGrHqIOKiIEq4O3B,IZBK3i9wwN(!~~_3\"<\/a>I only see a little day light through the drivers footwell floor. That carpet looks original. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Obligatory optimism aside, I am not so sure this car should be written off as a parts car. Yes it’s rusty, but there are people in the Alfa world who specialize in getting cars like this and with seeming effortless ease weld rockers, floors and corners in, throw a coat of paint on and have themselves a decent car. I wonder what happend to this? On the boat back to Germany likely.<\/p>\n
