Update:\u00a0 <\/strong>This car ended at $2175, reserve not met.\u00a0 I don’t see a note that the auction ended early, but I seem to remember it being more than this when I wrote about it.\u00a0 Is the market this soft so suddenly?<\/p>\n

Giulia Spider 10123 AR375922, Engine Tipo 00112 included (at least it sounds like it).<\/strong>\u00a0 This car is available on eBay right now<\/a>\u00a0out of Torrington CT.\u00a0 <\/strong>Fusi lists this car as a 1963 Giulia Spider Normale.\u00a0 Seller sold it previously on eBay but Eurpoean buyer backed out so it is on the market again.\u00a0 Buy it Now price of $8000 includes some new parts not offered as part of the auction including piston set, clutch and carb kits.\u00a0 I didn’t see what the first auction ended at, post a comment if you know.<\/p>\n

The seller of this car has listed many parts over the last year that I have watched and considered bidding on so I have no doubt they know their way around Alfas.\u00a0 The tirade about non-paying bidder is carried a little too far, but having been in that position I know it is easy to loose ones composure in that situation.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\"giulia<\/a>Looks like fun, a body on a dolly surrounded by crusty parts.\u00a0 The nose looks pretty good but with the parts in such a jumble I find it hard to accept the claim of 100% complete without subsantiation.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"giulia<\/a>The back looks good, having no evidence of careless SUV drivers using it as a parking limit indicator.\u00a0 Rust in lower section is pretty bad but most has been cut out and is ready for metal work.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"giulia<\/a>It’s actually a lot of work to strip a car this far, get the paint off of it and remove the rusty metal.\u00a0 I would guess about $1000 worth of work.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"giulia<\/a>The rust is like Russian nesting dolls.\u00a0 This looks bad to my eyes but apparently this sort of thing is common on these Spiders.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ad text reads: “CIAO ALFISTI!! This is a Giulia Spider in kit form! Most of the hard dirtywork has already been done! It was started by the owner and a professional body shop about 5 years ago. The owner stripped out the car and boxed up all the parts. The bodyshop built a chassis jig, welded in support bars across the door opening and sand blasted the whole car. A full set of replacement rocker structure, trunk floor and rear wheel arches was purchased from WOLFSTEEL at a cost of $1800. and the metal restoration was started. The trunk floor has been installed and the rear arches have been fitted, but not welded in place. The bodyshop had to move, so the owner took the project home for storage, until he could find another shop. I purchased the car this past summer with the intention of sending it to a friend’s shop to finish the metalwork. His shop is too busy with street collision work, so he put me off until spring. Unfortunately, the project is stored in my enclosed trailer and I need to use the trailer soon. I have reluctantly decided to offer the project for sale. If you have access to a body or metal working facility, it will only take a few weeks work to get the shell welded up and ready for paint. The car was originally white, but you now have the option to go with any color. THE CAR IS 100% COMPLETE!!!\u00a0 I didn’t get photos of everything because it was getting late today. The engine that came with the car is a 105 1600 converted to 101 spec. I have a correct serial numbered 00112 engine that will go with the car. There are 5 original Fergat wheels, original air cleaner assembly, seats, top frame, 5 speed trans, 5:12 rearend, etc. Since it is in my trailer already, I will deliver it a reasonable distance for expenses. The chassis jig and engine dolly are included. See the photos for details, come see the car, if you’re close by, and ask questions. Thanks for looking. If someone exercises the “Buy it Now” feature, I will add extra parts that I was planning to use on this car. {New pistons, clutch, carb kit, etc. Whatever I can come up with from my parts stock}

\"giulia<\/a>These are the repair panels.\u00a0 Doors look good.\u00a0 Gas tank will probably need a few hundred dollars worth of attention.\u00a0 Top frame and one wheel can be seen.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"giulia<\/a>Drivetrain looks average.\u00a0 Degreasing and rebuilding this stuff is satisfying but time consuming work, but not grueling like the rust repair.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"kit<\/a>Based on this I will guess a few thousand dollars will have to be spent on chrome.<\/strong><\/p>\n

$8000 doesn’t seem too bad for this car if everything is present as claimed, but the bill will quickly be $10,000 if you don’t live in the North East and can’t pick it up on your own.\u00a0 This car is probably best for the experienced welder but might be interesting to someone with a similar project they are currently working on to cherry pick parts from and resell at projects end.\u00a0 I think between $6000 and $7000 is a likely sale price for this.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
