Update 2\/10\/09:\u00a0 <\/strong>This car has been on eBay, Hemmings and anywhere else the seller could think of.\u00a0 Most recently it ended on eBay for $18,500 reserve not met with 32 bids.\u00a0 The interest is there, but the seller wants too much.<\/p>\n

Update 12\/4:\u00a0 <\/strong>This car is back on eBay<\/a>.\u00a0 No new photos are included and the text of the auction\u00a0is the same and there is a reserve.\u00a0 I suspect this auction will end about like the last time.\u00a0 Juan: if you’re going to relist as car that everyone has already seen a bunch of times you HAVE to change the auction or list it with no reserve!<\/p>\n

Update 11\/25:\u00a0 <\/strong>This car is now listed here<\/a> with an asking price of $33,500 and on Hemmings for $31,500.\u00a0 I still think this is a $25,000 car at most and with the economy as it is, that may even be high.<\/p>\n

Reserve not Met!\u00a0 <\/strong>Bidding reached $21,100 with reserve not met and the car has been relisted.\u00a0 Let’s see if this car can break the relist jinx.<\/p>\n

Giulia Spider AR*375944.\u00a0 <\/strong>This car is available right now on eBay <\/a>out of Roswell Georgia\u00a0with a buy it now price of $33,000. \u00a0Fusi indicates this car is a 1963 year model and should have an engine Tipo 00112* and a \u00a0number ~08000.\u00a0 Seller states that it is a one owner car with 55,000 miles.\u00a0 Paint if it is original is spectacular, but I doubt it is.\u00a0 This blue, renamed may times over the years in Alfa’s catalogs, is what I usually call Celeste blue, Italian for Heavenly or Sky blue.<\/p>\n

\"\"Brightwork fit on this nose is very good, except the missing trims that go around the upper edges of the grill openings.\u00a0 The mount holes for these can clearly be seen here.\u00a0 I would think for $33k the seller could spring for a set since they are not usually expensive.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>The hood fits well as does the door and windshield.\u00a0 The bridge of the nose that meets the grill heart is very prominent which is good.\u00a0 Those headlight rings look like the original Carello items.\u00a0 Note the hub-cap center emblems are faded, a sign that this car has been this nice for a while.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>I wonder if the car blushed while this candid shot was taken?\u00a0 It looks like there is some surface rust that might be a good idea to seal up, but for what can be seen (not much) it looks fine.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Unremarkable engine compartment unless those are the original Cavis ignition wires.\u00a0 I like the mismatched intake hoses and orange waterlines to the heater.\u00a0 You can tell this engine never gave much fuss and as a result saw very little attention.\u00a0 Note the passenger side heater duct is missing.\u00a0 A weekend cleaning and about $250 spent in parts would yield a very nice result in here.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>If this interior is original then it is the best original I’ve ever seen.\u00a0 The rear view mirror silvering looks good, the gauge faces are not too yellow and the upholstery is no-nonsense tidy.<\/strong><\/p>\n

If I could find a Giulietta Sprint Speciale this nice I would sell all my toys and buy it.\u00a0 I think $33,000 is ambitious for this car, $23,000 – $25,000\u00a0seems more realistic, but a visit in person may reveal a time-warp original one owner car and those are the best kind to buy.\u00a0 It would be fun to put on some work gloves and give the engine compartment a good detailing and I imagine the results would be stellar, but for the money asked, I would think the seller would have done this and the same to the suspensions and brakes.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Good luck Juan, it’s a nice car but you may need to work a little harder to convey that by providing comprehensive under-carridge and typical rust trap pictures, especially if you are holding out for average Spider Veloce project money.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
