This car has appeared at Fantasy Junction<\/a> and they have put it on eBay<\/a>. \u00a0I saw it in person today and it is a\u00a0thing of beauty.<\/p>\n

Giulietta Spider Veloce 10107 167610. \u00a0<\/strong>Tom Sahines in the San Francisco Bay Area has put this fine specimen of a Spider Veloce on the market. \u00a0Tom has been the ARA tech hotline for as long as I can remember, and has deep knowledge of Alfa’s cars from Giulietta to 164 and probably beyond. \u00a0I’ve seen some of his restorations in person and they are astonishingly nice. \u00a0Ever the engineer, astonishingly\u00a0nice to look at is not Tom’s main goal; astonishingly nice to drive is. \u00a0An unusual goal in a world where cars for resale tend to get the minimum attention to functionality.<\/p>\n

The asking price is $140,000. \u00a0This may seem high, but a 750D in similar\u00a0condition sold at Scottsdale for $140K.<\/p>\n

All the usual praise applies: great panel fit, impeccable bright-work and lust inspiring luster. \u00a0Yes please!<\/strong><\/p>\n

I’ve come around on red a bit. \u00a0Maybe it’s a blood stream thing, something about passion, or a recognition that there is a reason they don’t paint cars assigned to the monotonous\u00a0duties of\u00a0the commute color of a fresh kill.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The good tail lights. \u00a0Looks like Southern California in the background. \u00a0I can personally attest that getting all the trim to fit right and look good is harder than you think. \u00a0Many frustrating hours can be spent. \u00a0One mistake and it’s back to the paint shop for some tough touch up.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The fit of the trunk lid, the license plate bracket and the trunk lid weatherstrip\u00a0is one place a lesser Spider will fail. \u00a0This looks perfect.<\/strong><\/p>\n

A well done engine compartment for sure. \u00a0Like a new car. \u00a0I aspire to drop my Sprint off with Tom for a 1400 kit and thorough refreshing.<\/strong><\/p>\n

You occasionally see cars where the underside is in body color – I prefer the black undercoating. \u00a0It’s funny how some people avoid getting new zinc or cad plating on stuff on their cars when rebuilding. \u00a0A friend of mine got about 20 pounds of Honda motorcycle nuts and bolts plated for about $200. \u00a0All the bits look amazing.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Tom chose to put a 5 speed in this car. \u00a0Can’t say I blame him. \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

This nice and yet meant to be driven. \u00a0Stay on the clean roads!<\/strong><\/p>\n
