back on the market<\/a> after a bit of a hibernation and a healthy coat of rattle can primer. \u00a0Interesting to read my comments from 2008 and think about how the market has moved since. \u00a0It probably changed hands for just under $10,000 back then, and now it&#8217;s already at $14,200 with 31 bids and just under 3 days to go. \u00a0Amazing how things change.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/giuliettas.files.wordpress.com\/2008\/09\/sg3675.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-13565\" src=\"https:\/\/giuliettas.files.wordpress.com\/2008\/09\/sg3675.jpg?resize=525%2C394\" alt=\"sg3675\" width=\"525\" height=\"394\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Looks like a nicer starting point today than it did 7 years ago. \u00a0Also noteworthy is that this is a 10102, not a 10105, so it, has metric gauges and was originally probably meant for Italy -though it may have been a Mexico or Venezuela bound car. \u00a0Anyone know if Mexico or Venezuela cars have Italian language gauge inserts?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>October 10 2008:\u00a0<\/strong>I&#8217;m sure at least one of you out there were wondering what the seller wants for this car.\u00a0 Well wonder no longer, this car is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hemmings.com\/classifieds\/carsforsale\/alfa_romeo\/giulietta\/731179.html\">available now on Hemmings <\/a>website.\u00a0 Asking price is $11,900.\u00a0 Are we in a financial crisis or not?\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/picasaweb.google.com\/veloce510\/1960Alfa20205#\">More pictures <\/a>can be seen on Picasa (unless like me your employer blocks Picasa access for some reason).\u00a0 What do I think?\u00a0 For $11,900 this car should run, drive, stop and not make you worry about when you last had a Tetanus shot.\u00a0 Subtract the cost to make it so and you are back to a $5500 car.\u00a0 It is a free country though so be prepared to see this car on the market for a while.<\/p>\n<p><strong>September 22 2008: \u00a0Reserve not met!\u00a0<\/strong>Bidding ended at $5950 with 15 bids placed.\u00a0 I\u00a0bet the seller\u00a0wanted $6000 and is trying to make a deal with the high bidder.\u00a0 Relists always fall flat and this is pretty good money for this car.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Giulietta Sprint 10102 1493*<a href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/26218757@N06\/sets\/72157623381223262\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">20205<\/a>, engine 1315*010311.\u00a0 <\/strong>Here is a reportedly\u00a0rust free 101 Sprint Project that is currently <a href=\"http:\/\/cgi.ebay.com\/ebaymotors\/ws\/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&amp;category=5356&amp;viewitem=&amp;item=270277540577&amp;_trksid=p3907.m29\">on eBay <\/a>out of Florida.\u00a0 I would want to verify the rust free claim with pictures as Florida has a climate that promotes rust.\u00a0 Car wears new tires which is a plus at least as far as rolling it around while working on it is concerned and if they are of good quality your $300 ahead of the game.\u00a0\u00a0Everything on the outside is still bolted in place though it&#8217;s tough to tell for sure from the pictures it all looks reasonably straight.\u00a0<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/giuliettas.files.wordpress.com\/2008\/09\/a558_3.jpeg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" assume the &#8216;blush&#8217; on the front of this car hides surface rust of the sort seen on the drivers door.\u00a0 I like the fender-forward mounted mirrors (maybe a Japanese market car?) and the the $30 South American tires made for VW&#8217;s or $90+ Pirelli&#8217;s or Vredestein&#8217;s?\u00a0 Me neither.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a pleasant surprise, the underhood sound deadening material and light with cross pieces are in above average shape.\u00a0 Looks like the radiator is there.\u00a0 I am going to guess this car was factory and white interior is my favorite for these cars.\u00a0 While this all looks pretty good and will serve as a wonderful pattern for a new interior, it&#8217;s still going to cost a lot to style=\"color:#000000;\">Fuel pump, engine mount, distributor, flywheel are all present.\u00a0 Oil pan looks like the normale pressed steel type.\u00a0 Condition of the crank is iffy.\u00a0 Probably best to plan on getting another period engine for parts.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/giuliettas.files.wordpress.com\/2008\/09\/a9a4_3.jpeg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-1285\" title=\"Giulietta Sprint parts on tarp\" more of the missing stuff.\u00a0 I&#8217;d ask for an item by item inventory before I assumed everything was present.\u00a0 Those two aluminum bits in the lower left corner are parts for the eyebrow 750 Sprint bumpers (not 101 Sprint) which makes me wonder if all these parts are from this car or if there are parts from another car included to &#8216;flesh out&#8217; the included parts pile.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I could see this car going for $5500 or maybe a little more if further pictures and a parts\u00a0inventory made it seem like a better deal.\u00a0 I&#8217;ve found an average of about one a week for project Sprints the last few months and I can&#8217;t help but think the market is getting softer by the day as more cars like this are brought to market.\u00a0 Maybe it&#8217;s time for a\u00a0Crappy Sprint Project sellers consortium, something\u00a0along the lines of OPEC, to\u00a0get together and release reserves in a controlled manner to help\u00a0stabilize
