Giulietta Spider 10125*10115<\/a>. \u00a0<\/strong>This clean Spider is available<\/a> through Hemmings right now. They seem to let their listings ride for months -probably to keep the overall site listing count from dipping below some minimum, so there’s no guarantee it’s still available, but a quick call to the seller should tell. \u00a0The car is very clean and shiny, with compelling, although way too dark to reveal much of the details images. \u00a0If you are in the market for an early LWB Spider Veloce and $99,500 doesn’t scare you off, you should book a trip to PA and go take it for a drive.<\/p>\n

Nearly invisible door shut lines? \u00a0Check. \u00a0Borrani wheels? \u00a0Check. \u00a020 footer? \u00a0Check. \u00a0Car looks really good, but these images are too dark and too low resolution to be more than marginally useful. \u00a0Enough to base a trip to PA on I guess.<\/strong><\/p>\n

I have to assume the trunk seal rubber is the new stuff that pushes the lid open. \u00a0 Looks like the current batch of repro tail lights.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Original engine was an 00106 Veloce. \u00a0They say a crack was discovered and repaired but ultimately a different engine was used. \u00a0This is 1315*4350X. \u00a0Intake and all that is the 101 Veloce stuff. \u00a0It all looks great, but I’m not sure the best path was taken. \u00a0A 101 Spider engine would have been cheaper to source and been more correct than the 750 unit used. \u00a0Either way, I suspect the price doesn’t accurately reflect the lack of the original or at least an original 00106 engine. \u00a0Thought experiment: Given two identical restored Spider Veloce specimens for the same money (say red ones for $100,000) -one with original engine and one without, I and probably anyone else would go for the matching number car. \u00a0Start shaving $1000’s off the non-matching car, at what point would I jump on the non-matcher? \u00a0$95,000? \u00a0$90,000? \u00a0Tough call.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The above of course leads us into the general ‘engine number’ discussion. \u00a0Does a documented matching engine add any value? \u00a0What is your opinion?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
