Update 2\/2\/13: \u00a0<\/strong>Bid to $18,100 with the reserve not met. \u00a0I’m torn here. \u00a0$18,100 is not a lot for a complete project car that is ready for a light skim, paint, trim\/mechanical refresh and assembly -the body had to be done, but ball-parking it, you will be $10K into paint, $12K into the mechanicals and probably $20K refinishing and assembling trim\/interior etc. \u00a0That’s $60K for a ’59 Normale<\/em>. \u00a0I know a few guys who are deeper than that into theirs, but I don’t think I’ve seen one sell for that (have I?).<\/p>\n

Update 1\/21\/13: \u00a0<\/strong>Looking better without those widened wheel arches, this car is back on eBay<\/a> after considerable work. \u00a0Good car for someone who wants to just paint and put together a car.<\/p>\n

Update 9\/16\/08.\u00a0 <\/strong>Reserve not met.\u00a0 eBay auction ended at $4550 with 13 bids.\u00a0 Seller started low to let the auction build up momentum but was still unable to get to reserve.\u00a0 If I were selling this I would give it a rest until early next year and redesign the auction.\u00a0 Assuming one could buy this car for about $5000, I would have thought someone would have bought it by now.<\/p>\n

Update 9\/9\/08.\u00a0 <\/strong>On eBay again starting low and presumably with a reserve in the $5000 range.\u00a0 Now might be the time to snap this up if auction fatigue has set in and no one is bidding and the seller is keen on unloading.<\/p>\n

Update 8\/19\/08.\u00a0 Reserve not met.\u00a0 <\/strong>Bidding ended at $5600.\u00a0 Car has been relisted<\/a>\u00a0with a clearer description and pictures of included parts. Opening bid is now $5800 and there is no reserve.\u00a0 Probably a good buy if it goes for not much more but I think the market for this\u00a0car\u00a0has been flooded as of late.<\/p>\n

Giulietta Sprint 1493*20107 <\/strong>is on eBay right now.\u00a0 Seller is a long time Alfa enthusiast and has a business reproducing wiring harnesses for Italian cars of the 50’s and 60’s.\u00a0 Car is listed as a 750B but is probably a 101.05.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>This is how Sprints looked when they turned up between about 1970 and 1985.\u00a0 Not necessarily abused but not well treated either.\u00a0 This car looks straight and complete enough.\u00a0 slightly flared wheel wells is probably a plus for some in the market for a Sprint to take to the track.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“This auction is for a 1959 Giulietta Sprint 750B Serial Number AR1493*20107. Unlike most Sprints, this model is a unique 2+2 series vehicle. The majority of Sprints where introduced as a two seat with a rear luggage compartment. Nevertheless, this is not a comfortable four person car unless you are 3ft tall; It just a nice and very uncommon feature for these models. \u00a0As you can see on the photos, all four fender wheel wells where slightly modified to accommodate wider profile tires. \u00a0This vehicle will make a nice restoration project given that all the hard parts are included with the sale of the car.\u00a0 <\/span>All jack points appear to be strong and solid.\u00a0 <\/span>No collision Damage.\u00a0 <\/span>Some rust on trunk floor, front and rear driver side.\u00a0 <\/span>Available: Front and rear bumpers, side spears, hood spear, Re-chromed center Ring as shown, all inside door openers and window cranks, rear air plane, as well as the grill turn signal assemblies.\u00a0 <\/span>Complete engine and transmission with all accessories.\u00a0 <\/span>Original wire harness.\u00a0 <\/span>All glass.”<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

\"\"<\/a>Headliner is<\/strong> modified to give back seat occupants some headroom.\u00a0 I actually had 5 in my Sprint at one point.\u00a0 We were like one of those little glass jars packed with artichoke hearts.<\/strong><\/p>\n

There is probably someone in the Richardson Texas area looking for a Sprint to fuss around with and this car is probably their best bet.\u00a0 If it wasn’t for the bondo eyebrows around each wheel opening I’d consider getting it going and driving it around as is just to piss off the purists.\u00a0 There are several other Giulietta Sprint project options right now that are fairly interesting so this car may go for a seeming bargain.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
