Some cars you pursue, some pursue you.\u00a0 Some need engine work, others bodywork, and still others both and everything in between.\u00a0 This car?\u00a0 Just needs some easy stuff…\u00a0 How did it come to pass?\u00a0 I was in the right place at the right time and rolled with it.\u00a0 A few days later I purchased this series 2 Appia.\u00a0 It needs an engine swap -comes with the new unit even, but needs little else.\u00a0 Check it out.<\/p>\n

Heard about it on Monday.\u00a0 Bought it on Tuesday.\u00a0 It’s kind of a metallic <\/strong>gray-green.<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/strong>\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The body is all original with one original color respray.\u00a0 Chrome is all original and basically perfect.\u00a0 Glass is excellent.\u00a0 Tires are a few years old but have less than 100 miles on them.\u00a0 Vignale Spider cousin in the background.<\/strong><\/p>\n

These remind me of a little Mercedes 190B.\u00a0 Same Lucas tail light lenses as a 750 Giulietta Spider\/Sprint.\u00a0 Nice license plate.\u00a0 As you can see the rear seat top is a bit ‘tore’ up.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Interior is all original wool and the drivers seat has some wear.\u00a0 Dash looks amazing.\u00a0 Rubber mat’s are clean.<\/p>\n

Door panel has some nice patina.\u00a0 Oil change sticker on the door jamb is from the late 1960’s at 44,000 miles.\u00a0 Car now has about 59,000.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Little engine that could, except it’s frozen.\u00a0 Not sure why, but I tried the old 4th gear rock and no movee.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The replacement unit.\u00a0 Came out of the parts car the car comes with.\u00a0 Turns over!<\/strong><\/p>\n

A little elbow grease and some nose oil and this thing looks great.\u00a0 This is after I pulled the frozen engine out.\u00a0 Cool grill on these!<\/strong><\/p>\n

I’m excited to cruise this thing!<\/strong><\/p>\n

The parts car.\u00a0 Not sure I can kill it.\u00a0 Doesn’t need “much”.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Where am I now?\u00a0 New engine is in, parts to hook it up are in the trunk and a $180 tow bill stands between it and Jaan’s lift where it will be made whole.\u00a0 Soon.\u00a0 Lot’s else going on, but soon…<\/p>\n
